Elephone will begin the presale of their Elephone P6000 Pro on the 25th of July when 2 versions of the phone will be available from only $119.99.
Elephone’s P6000 kicked off the 64bit parade earlier this year and proved to be one of the better Elephone devices we have seen so far. It featured a 64bit chip, 2GB RAM and good performance at a low price.
With the success of the P6000 Elephone have decided to revisit the device with an updated Pro version. The Elephone P6000 Pro will be available to pre-order from the 25th July and two models will be available.
Both phones will use a MT6753 chipset and run Android 5.1, with the differences being the choice of either a Samsung or Sony camera, or 2-3GB RAM. Prices will start from only $119.99 which for the 2GB model, while the retail price of the 3GB version hasn’t been revealed just yet.
Lol MT6752 for $119, I wonder what surprise Elephone is keeping for us. Another Buggy touch or no OTG like the original P6000 lol
Exactly what I am thinking … MT6752 for $120? Whats the catch?
iocean rock which have mt6752 is also usd135ish now.
the catch is the software and battery sucks
Andi: are we supposed to expect the camera to be better this time?
Marco: geekbuying shop has it listed as with 6753, not 6752. Price of the 3GB model is only 10 bucks bigger there, BTW.
Looks veeery nice – if the camera appears to be doing better pictures it will be a 100% hit.
If that’s anything like the original P6000 without its problems fixed, then better stay away.
P6000 produces awful pictures (mostly software and optics fault), laggy rom, buggy touchpad, no OTG, no compass as it was advertised in the beginning. Overall build quality seems fine, but other issues ruin everything.
So maybe that’s the catch – you get powerful hardware ruined by awful implementation.
I own p6000, and I must say my phone is just fine. Nice pictures, no laggy rom no baggy touchpad. Maybe i was lucky. I will say for now only battery that drains so fast and charge slow is problem…
The touchpad problem was solved with a russian patch at the beginning. The other things promised in the beginning like otg and compass were a lie. On some phones the camera is ok, but on some it is bad. 4.4.4 rom was better than 5.0.
Can you get some photo samples?
I bought it for my brother when this model was new, but I’m very disappointed, especially from the camera and the rom. Maybe you don’t have anything to compare it with, but when you see how smooth is everything on some other phones, you immediately notice the lag on P6000 (5.0 roms).
Don’t get me wrong, the latest rom is not that bad, but it can be much much better…
Mine is fine too, waiting patiently for the 3GB Pro version.
Why isn’t there any mention of the 6752 on their official site?
I’ve seen somewhere that it will use MT6753, but that still pretty good for this price. I’m looking forward it.
its on Elephone website that says it will use MT6753
Even with MT6753, I still think there’s a catch to it. You cant tell me they are going to use really good build materials, moderate-good camera (back and front), OTG and a well optimized ROM with MT6753/3GB RAM/16GB ROM combo and then offer it for $120/$130?
Seriously, I dont believe that.
damn, the price is so attractive that I almost forgot it’s an Elephone. it’s like Kate Upton trying to get laid with you but you know she got STD!
There is no better words to explain the feeling.
I would still hit it…..
yeah right, and then what? are you going to give the STD to your “friend” like you did with the Elephone P7000? 😀
again: you are such a good friend!
Funny thing he is, he actually loves the P7000. He never heard of our site before, he just stumbled on an Elephone in a market one day. But I showed him the review and all the negative comments and he thinks we are all crazy.
Question for you Balco: have you ever ordered a phone from offshore for delivery into Thailand and if so, did you get hit with Customs duty (and how much)? Anyway to avoid duty? Thanks!
I had a lot of problems with Thailand and phone delivery. DHL is pretty reliable but you will almost always get hit with VAT, as for how much I have yet to figure out how they come up with it. It has been as little as 200 baht on a $400 Xioami phone to as much as 1000 baht on a $200 THL. Being Thailand most of the money probably gets pocketed by the customs official. With regular postal mail I have had orders get “lost” one too many times.
There are two mobile shops in MBK though that will get phones from China for you for a small fee, and they also usually stock the latest phones from Meizu, Xiaomi and a few others. One is 55 shop located right next to the escalators coming down from the 5th floor and the other is ABC Shop located near the entrance to Tokyu Department store on the 4th floor.
Thanks for the help!
YES!!! A NEW ELEPHONE!! I was waiting and waiting for them to release information about a new a device. WHOOO HOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
Would like to know what ‘Samsung’ camera they are putting in this. If its an ISOCELL, it should take half decent pictures but not sure they could fit all that good hardware in this price point.
Holy Big-ass Bezels Batman!
