Huawei Honor 7 is coming to European markets indeed

huawei honor 7

The Honor 7 has been quite a success for Huawei. The newly launched flagship phone has already made quite a dent in the Chinese phone industry with record sales, and has caught the attention of buyers overseas.

Which is why, Huawei today announced via a video that the Honor 7 would be made available in European markets. It’s quite a cheeky way in which it is announced too; right towards the end of the video, it’s a ‘yes’ to ‘so…is it coming?’. The video also brags about their success with the device so far, which is quite understandable.

The Honor 7 comes with a 5.2-inch screen with a 1920 x 1080p resolution, 3GB of RAM, a 20 mega-pixel main camera, a fingerprint sensor and more. With over 9 million devices pre-ordered in China, one would imagine that there’ll be quite a backlog that Huawei will have to cover before moving on to other markets.

        hi MaxPower
I want to know your opinion about Xiaomi, Oppo and Meizu, pls.
What do you think of these brands compared to Huawei?

        • MaxPower
          July 16, 2015

all of them together are the best you can get from Chinese market.
You can’t go wrong if you pick one.

of course, they all have their pros and cons so it’s all up to your choice.
whatever fits for someone might not fit for you and vice-versa.

what kind of phone are you looking for?

I look for a phone 5.2 to 6″ full HD. A good ROM and a very good apn.
No game on my phone and I don’t really need the new high-powered processor.

budget? do you mind single sim or lack of sd card? camera: average or good?

              July 17, 2015

Simple or double sim, It doesn’t matter.
              Budget 300 / 400 $
              sd card is better
i want a very good camera, among the best (important).
              International version (French)

according to your criteria i would go either with Xiaomi MI Note

              shop.gizchina.com/mi-note/xiaomi-mi-note-3gb-ram-16gb-rom-smartphone-301.html?search_query=note&results=11&cate=64

which has one of the best camera out there (Andi, the owner of Gizchina, actually uses this phone and he always goes for the best camera phones)

              or Meizu MX5

              shop.gizchina.com/meizu/meizu-mx5-3gb-ram-16gb-rom-silver-black-347.html?search_query=mx5&results=2&cate=64

Oppo and Huawei make good phones too, but their ROM are a mess.

Edit: I’ve just realised that you’re requiring SD card slot.
Unfortunately this feature is disappearing among major brands.

            • Gilles
              July 17, 2015

I wrote that with SD card reader is better.
In fact, this is not one of my main criteria.
Thank you for the advice, I’ll wait for the MX5 review by Andi and I will then make a decision. FlyMe is a good ROM? better the ROM of Oppo and Huawei?

              Personal question :
Among all Chinese phones, which of them makes your heart beat faster?

            • MaxPower
              July 17, 2015

yes, i would wait for a review too.

Flyme is a good ROM, I’m a MIUI fan though.
ColorOs is totally junk, i wasn’t a fan of EMUI but Airyl (this guy below me ↓ ) that the last version is much better.

I’m a huge fan of Xiaomi because they deliver my two main demands:
              software and price.
In fact i could have suggested you another phone, the IUNI U3 which is a bargain, but software-wise is crap.

i own a MI4 now and I’m happy with it but I’m attracted by the Meizu MX5.
@balcobomber25 won it at the last giveaway and I’m looking forward to know his thoughts about it.

i love Vivo phones, they are probably the best out there, but they miss one of my main requests: price.
              they are way too expensive!

            • Gilles
              July 17, 2015

OK, thank you MP … I will follow the information about the MX5, but I understand you like the MI note and I think you’re right… and its price have decreased.

            • MaxPower
              July 17, 2015

i came out with those 2 phones because:
both have a great camera (according to Andi as good as the Vivo Xshot which was the best camera centric phone last year).

both are priced the same and still fall into your budget.

              both have a great software.

i might have mentioned the OnePlus One with a great software, camera is good, but not as good as those above.

LeTV LE1 is another alternative but software is still young so i would pass.

if i had to pick between MI Note and MX5 i would probably go with the MX5 only because it’s newer, it’s 64bit, amoled display, and it has fingerprint scanner.
i would definetely wait for review thou, and who knows, maybe an amazing 5.2″ MI5 will come out meanwhile. 😉

            • Gilles
              July 19, 2015

OK, I’ll wait that you think about MI5.
              I’m no hurry.
The review of the MI Note by Andi is enlightening and confirms your opinion. But 16 gb is a bit small and 64 gb too big. 32 gb would be perfect.

            • MaxPower
              July 19, 2015

yeah, it’s a pain in the butt.
most brands don’t provide SD card slot, they make 16gb version which is getting too tight for almost anybody (not necessary power users) and the 64gb is a little pricey.
i think 32GB would be the solution that might make everybody happy.

              July 24, 2015

Looking at my usage of my Mi 2S (16gb ROM/2gb RAM) I would expect the 32gb version to be too little within a year of usage. I am with Gilles on the need for SD Card.

              July 24, 2015

the industry is abandoning this technology, the trend is clear.
every year we have fewer phones with a SD card slots.

              July 27, 2015

But what do you make of the dual SIM/SD card slot? I must admit that I haven’t been looking at phones for a while and I am surprised the dual SIM slot is still very much in offer (if not in demand) AND that the second slot can act as an SD Card reader.

i don’t even know what is all about and for that reason i don’t know who could help you with.

why don’t you write a comment where you explain quickly what it is so that can catch people’s attention?

asking for cooperation without explaining what it’s all about might sound a little fishy.

Yes infact during the launch event in China for Honor 7, they was slide where it showed many international online buying websites Huawei will be partnering to sell the Honor 7.

Google play is not problem even on Chinese version. It can be easy dowloaded through Huawei’s pre installed App center and your ready to go.

As usual, the Chinese options have advantage over version sold international. Most likely the 64gb high version will not be available for example outside China.

      • eliHd452
        July 17, 2015

I hope they are partnering with amazon or such when it comes to the uk just like last time when honor 6 came out. At one point amazan uk was selling honor 6 @ £149 due to price error and they were honoring the buyers! ??

        July 22, 2015

I have just bought one from China, and yes, you can install Play, but it
keeps failing after a short period and play services won’t let email or
contacts sync. Suspect firmware problems. Shame as otherwise a superb
        phone.

Join xda forums, and visit other Huawei brands, they will tell you how to get out of that. I think there is another google service app from Huawei center that needs to be downloaded fixes all that.

The only problem is it will be single sim here. That suxx…. And Band20 will still be missing…

    • Lars
      July 17, 2015

How can you be sure B20 will still be missing? It wouldn’t be very smart to release a phone in Europe that doesn’t support all 4G bands these days. I’d say wait and see before jumping to conclusions.

Btw I love this phone, it’s everything I’m looking for. Just hope the price will be ok.

    • Faux-News
      July 17, 2015

Its has dual slot, where second slot can be used as SIM or sd card.

And B20 will be available on international versions as usual, it is only Chinese version that lack it.
