If there’s one thing OnePlus could change about how its phones are sold, it is surely the invite system. It might look like a great concept at first to keep supply streamlined, but then there’s an a more powerful opposite reaction among buyers.
According to OnePlus, invites will be a lot easier to get hold of compared to last year. Also, the company is preparing to start with an exponentially larger inventory — more than 30 times of what they did with the OnePlus One.
Moreover, there’ll also be a “reservation list” this time round, which will hopefully save potential buyers from taking part in silly contests. From what we make of it, this will make the invite system largely an FCFS (First Come First Serve) thing besides the obvious preferences for forum old-timers and the usual contest winners.
About shareable invites: if you remember, OnePlus sent out invites to be shared with other hopefuls if you bought a OnePlus One. It’ll be the same way this time round too, with the difference being in the fact that these shareable invites will make it to your inbox much sooner.
Does this make the OnePlus 2 better for you? Do share your thoughts in this week’s open thread.
