Ulefone have taken to Facebook to ask help name their next device, a 5-inch phone with HD resolution and 2GB RAM.
The choices which Ulefone Fans, or Ulefans, have been offered for the new device are either Ulefone Lite or Ulefone Air. Judging by the partially known specifications we would have to choose Ulefone Lite, but the Air option does offer some interesting clues to the phone build.
If Ulefone are considering the name Ulefone Air then the body of the 5-inch should be thinner and lighter than previous phones we have seen from the brand. The Air name is also used on Apple’s thin alloy laptops which could also suggest a metal build of the new phone.
What we do know of the new device is that it looks very much like a Meizu phone but with the classic halo button rather than physical control. The bezels look mighty thin and that it will run a 5-inch HD display, 2GB RAM and a Mediatek MT6753 chipset.
Which name would you choose?
uFone 5?
The idea of calling it lite is marketing suicide! Across English speaking countries lite refers to a cut down lower spec version of a product.
If they are the only 2 choices then it would be Air, it’s a marketing word that has worked well for both Nike and apple.
Since it’s using the MT6753 it could be called ‘lite’ I guess as that’s a cut down version of the MT6752. I was happy to see another 5″ device but then got disappointed when I read it would feature a MT6753 :(.
I suggest Ulefone YACWNU (Yet Another Crap With No Updates)
Charm blue or m1 fits
I don’t care about the name. Give me 800MHz LTE, 64GB SD card slot,
good built quality, camera, display and battery. Add clean and rooted

I’ve just called Ulefone “Bastard” for its design similar to meizu’s phones, I don’t like air or lite either
