Quite a lot happened in the Chinese tech world this week. Certainly a lot more than what we saw last week.
Here’s what were the biggest takeaways from the past 5 days or so. Of course, they’re in no particular order, so what might seem like the most important bit to you might feature in the end, or vice versa. Take a look.

1. GizChina Shop now open!
After gaining years’ worth of experience reporting and dealing with Chinese tech and gadgets, GizChina has finally teamed up with a professional e-retailer to provide international buyers a buying experience that’s unmatched.
2. iOcean Rock is the cheapest 3GB RAM phone
The MT6752 is fast being discarded as the SoC of choice by Chinese OEMs, but the iOcean Rock still has that SoC, and with 3GB of RAM the phone is now the most affordable 3GB RAM phone… EVER!
3. New Elephone measures the same as the iPhone 6 with larger display
Elephone are usually infamous for their marketing antics, but this new phone that the company has in the works might actually be something. The phone is the same size as the iPhone 6… but has a larger AMOLED display.
4. Zuk Z1 confirmed to have Cyanogen OS, 3GB RAM and more
Lenovo backed Zuk might not have the best marketing team, but the company is certainly promising a lot with their first ever phone, the Zuk Z1. The phone is confirmed to have Cyanogen OS with 3GB RAM and a Snapdragon processor.
5. JiaYu resurrect themselves as the new JiaYu
Despite the rumours coming from all sides, it appears as though Chinese smartphone OEM JiaYu will remain in the business. A new statement issued by the company just announced they’re not going out of business anytime soon!
