Lenovo’s ZUK sub brand are teasing the battery life of their ZUK Z1 flagship after claiming that under heavy usage %50 of the capacity remained onboard!
Battery life and capacity has been a feature that Chinese phone makers have looked at carefully this year. Over the past 7 months battery sizes have gotten larger, charging faster and processors more energy-efficient in a bid to give you as much usage through the day.
Start-up ZUK have also been keen to offer the longest battery life possible and it was made known early on in the companies teasers that their first phone would feature a 4000mAh+ battery.
To give Chinese fans some idea of how long that large battery would last in the ZUK Z1, the company have claimed they have put the phone through heavy usage scenarios starting from 8:30am to 5:54pm with LTE, WIFI and chat apps running (such as Wechat, QQ etc). At the end of the day ZUK claim just %50 of the battery had been used, more than enough to get you through the evening.

It sure sounds good, but we would like to learn more about ZUK’s definition of ‘heavy usage’ is as simply using chat apps isn’t all that demanding on the battery life of a phone. Perhaps if they added a few gaming, music and movie sessions to the mix we would have a better idea of the true battery life.
The ZUK Z1 is scheduled to be released later in the year with Snapdragon processor, 4000mAh battery, 13 mega-pixel camera and Android 5.1. Full details are still unknown.
