Just as promised, Elephone have released the kernel source code for the Elephone P8000 publicly to devs to get their hands on.
Elephone has really made an effort to embrace the Android dev community. From releasing their own versions of MIUI and Flyme for their popular range of phones, to launching their own UI, Elephone and flash tool, Elephone have offered plenty of options for fans wanting to customise their smartphone experience.

For the Elephone P8000, the company has gone a step further by releasing the source code to the phone, allowing developers to build their own custom ROMs for the 5.5-inch device. Elephone have released the code on Github where it can be downloaded now, 2 days ahead of the release of the Elephone P8000 phone on the 25th July.
The Elephone P8000 follows on from the P7000 with 5.5-inch display, fingerprint scanner and 3GB RAM but features slightly smaller bezels, a different design, MT6753 chipset, 4165mAh battery and 13 mega-pixel Samsung main camera.
