Breaking: OnePlus 2 leaks hours ahead of launch in full glory

The OnePlus 2 is only hours away from launch, but it appears as though the phone wasn’t done leaking.

Hands on pictures of the phone in full glory have made their way to the internet. The pictures confirm the design that TENAA leaks depicted, so if you didn’t like the design then, well, I’m sorry.

Take a look at the pictures below. The pictures are said to have been leaked by someone who has access to the phone (and is apparently conducting an AMA-ish thing here).

We asked you if you’re going to buy the OnePlus 2. If you haven’t answered yet, do so now! Also, the OnePlus 2 leaked in its 4GB RAM avatar some time back, about which you can read here.

This new leak pretty much hits the nail on the head with design. You are now free to decide if you like the phone without even the launch finished… only if the leaks are true, which they seem to be.

Well, there’s a lot of possibilities involved in these (leaked) pictures:
* removable back -> StyleSwaps?
* SIM tray under the back with 2 slots (no SD card?)
It’s looking good -well, except the physical button 🙁 –
I have a few weeks or months to get used to it 😛 )

1+2 is not the monster 1+1 used to be in its time . . . . . 1+2 has many rivals performance wise 1+1 had no performance rivals at its time and even months after its launch . . . . ! Its just one of the many 810 headsets . . . waiting for next from OPO hope they use Snapdragon 820 in it . . . !

oneplus one look better then this.. its a total disaster if you ask me! only turn around at this point is the PRICE.. if they set the price so low like the first time then they have luck but not like this.. im so disappointed.

Its back and bottom looks good IMO.
I didn’t like plastic looking black frame between front glass and metal frame. Reminded me Redmi Note.
Arched back probably provides a good grip. Judging by the USB port and headphone jack, its central thickness should be close around 8mm and edges close to 6mm.
Maybe a little shorter than OPO.

Looks like Zte Axon will be the better choice. Let’s wait for the price. One thing though. The chinese poster who is responsible for this leak is saying that the camera sensor isn’t from Sony. On the other hand, mkbhd claimed that it was Imx214.

I could live with the back but I really don’t like the front with that physical button. Also, just like the OPO I don’t really like the overall shape (rounding of the corners).

Really underwhelming design after all the hype. Let’s wait if OP can make it up with the final specs and more important: pricing. I expect the worst, though. ?

Definately not buying this ugly designed phone .
First , it was said that it will come with 16 MP camera , now it’s 13 MP .
Second , they had a nicely designed phone one plus one , now it’s ugly designed one plus two .
Third , SnapDragon 810 .
Better luck next time with one plus three .

      I understand that and I am one of the last people to defend OPO. But in the end would you rather they kept their word or would you rather have the best possible pictures? If they did what Meizu did this year with the MX5 and spent the last few months really disecting the sensor and reworking all the algorithms as well as updating the opics, the photos will look better than simply using a new sensor.

  For me it would never matter, looks are one of the most important things to me. That is why I would never buy a Zenfone 2. It is an amazing phone but it is so incredibly hideous looking in my opinion.

    i respect your take on cell phone aesthetics … ofcourse , no one wants to carry a mini frankenstein in their hand and be proud to show it off to friends
    i simply place more emphasis on specs being used the way they should be … i.e near 100% optimization on everything … be it OS , Cam optics , CPU clocks , sound chip , … yada yada …
    don’t think im drooling at this phone’s looks but i think it might be a worthy successor (performance-wise) to its slightly outdated predecessor …
    guess we’ll just have to wait and see … through the reviewer’s eyes :p

I am predicting this is going to be the least of the worst news for fans of One Plus. I see a price tag of around $400-450 US.
Also judging by those pictures it is easily 5.5 inches and maybe even 5.7.

Glad to see they maintained the sandstone black back..Also, its design is not that bad. Frankly, if it doesn’t overheat, has an accurate fingerprint sensor, better screen-to-body ratio and the camera works as promised (better than iPhone +) then all is forgiven..almost

      Right now the whole cell phone world is concentrated on the One Plus Two and nothing else. Jiayu is a good brand but they don’t have the hype or following One Plus does.

honestly, I don’t understand those teasers about a metal phone. Hopefully, they have something more to show. Metal frame can be found on many phones even in the $100 price range.

  A good metal frame can be very good for the overall build quality of the phone as well as the heat dispersal. The difference between the metal frame in a phone like this and the $100 phone is the type of metals being used. Phones like the OP2 are using alloys made up of Aluminum, Magnesium, or Tungsten which are all incredibly strong, heat resistant and lightweight. A lot of those cheaper phones use cheaper metals or they use plastic and paint it to look like metal and claim that it is.

    Yes, you are right. However, my point was that OnePlus teased the device as an all-metal phone. A metal frame does not make a metal phone as some manufacturers use as a false marketing. Letv Le 1 Pro, Huawei P8 and iPhone 6 are all metal phones.

      What they actually said was a “full metal build”. That is really too vague to make any conclusions about. Many assumed it meat the phone would be made entirely out of metal but they ever actually confirmed that. If the entire frame is made of metal that technically is still a full metal build.

So about as expected.
Now they’ll price the lesser version at 299$ and claim that makes sense and means the price has not changed and price the proper version higher. Not that anyone should buy SD810 at this point – just wait for a proper SoC.that’s a lot faster- and that Samsung nose…
SD620/618 and MT6797 better arrive soon, SD820 doesn’t look likely this year and phone makers are just releasing what hey can instead of waiting.

      The X10 has sustained performance and never throttles or heats up. Even if the 810 didn’t heat up like a stovetop, the difference in processing power between the 810 and x10 isn’t that much. The 810 should destroy it in graphics performance but that overheating kills all advantages it has.

      Techradar has already hands on with the Two, they said it heats up like every other 810 phone. There is no getting around bad design of a SoC no matter what you do to it.

The design is awful, its shape is boxy and edges are rather curvy. Both front and back designs seem odd. This phones design is something that a lower end chinese phone manufacturer would do. The specs and flash sale had already killed this phone for me. Now I dont even wanna read or watch a review of this thing.
After the inception of the OPO everthing seems to have gone downhill for OP, flash sale fiasco, cyanogen pulling out and now this ugly looking device with less than desirable specs.

Well, that’s the Icing on the cake for me! I was already 90% committed to not getting it because of the lack of Cyanogen but that design is hanging!
The back looks boring and ugly all at the same time, for some daft reason the camera section seems to be too low down for my liking, why is the flash above the lens also???
The front with that physical button just looks like a boring old Samsung Galaxy Note… And the top and bottom bezels are looking rather large to me in comparison to where we should be with the sizes of bezels these days… – When LG came out with the G3 it was like WOW! They’ve managed to make it almost all screen! This, seems to have the same physical dimensions as the OnePlus One..?
And over all, it really just looks like a slightly tweaked OnePlus One… I mean, I love my OnePlus One, but I’d expect something pretty damn different to the ‘One’ given the fact that it’s called the ‘Two’
It’s more like the OnePlus One Facelift except it’s had far too much cosmetic surgery…
There we go then, I’ve had my rant about how they only got money out of me for their first model, better luck in the future OnePlus if you actually get that far now… Tut tut…

Why the whole camera is positioned lower than the One, no NFC but they are saying flagship killer 2016, no HDR support on camera, screwed up camera sensor, stealing Samsung’s ugly fugly front button, oh God, I didn’t buy the One after using my brothers one, was hoping high for this Two. Lets wait till the final announcement, but I guess many many offended potential customers are lined up. People are getting angry.
And to those mediatek fanatics, mediatek can’t beat snapdrapon if they don’t provide a ground breaking GPU.

I am really not a fan of One Plus company. But hey guys: Theses photos don’ t do justice. In fact this phone is quite pretty, if you take in considerations the finishing.
Androidcentral got nice photos with the different covers.

  I saw the photos and the wood covers look less ugly, but it is still a hideous looking phone in my opinion. Also kinda surprised they are only using darker colors and there is no white or silver option. A lighter color would make it look thinner and less bulky as evident by the light wood color.

It was already announced: $329 for 16GB version, $389 for 64 GB. Not bad prices if you have an invite, without one you will be paying well over $400 for 16Gb and over $500 for 64GB.
