Blackview phone concept boasts touch screen fingerprint scanner, 2K display and MT6797

If the OnePlus 2 was a bit of a disappointment then turn your attention to the latest from China, in particular this unamed smartphone beast from Blackview.

Although they claim its a 2016 Flagship Killer, the OnePlus 2 is pretty average at best. With an overheating SD 810, 1080 display, and 13 mega-pixel camera, the specs are ok but hardly class leading, which makes the latest Blackview sound all the more special.

The unnamed model will go on official sale during the Middle of September and is designed to be a standout flagship for 2016 and a phone that will put Blackview on the map. From what little we know about the phone we believe that is exactly what could happen.

Blackview say their new phone will feature all the usual bits and bobs that make it a flagship device. A slim body, bezel-less design, 2K display, and 4GB RAM. Not following in the Snapdragon trap, Blackview have opted for a Mediatek MT6797 chipset for power and will spec the device with either 16-32GB internal memory.

Front camera hardware is still a mystery but the rear sensor will be a 20 mega-pixel Sony IMX230 camera. All very promising!

The real standout feature though is the display which not only packs in all those pixels but also has an integrated fingerprint scanner. In this case there will be no need for a physical home button, or rear mounted scanner. We’re not sure how Blackview will solve the integration but we are certainly excited to try it out!

2k display and 20mp camrras are eye catching specs, but they will mean nothing if paired with a cheap LCD and cheap lens/optics/poor software optimization on the camera. I hope they choose to invest sufficient time and money, even if it mean’s charging a bit more to consumers to get these things right. If they do that, and nail the basics then they could hit a home run.

Touchscreen fingerprint scanner sounds amazing. I am actually hesitant to buy a 2k display phone though because I like batteries that actually last.

why mt6735 ? 1ghz , are you crazy ? it’s not an iphone , it’s anroid phone , minimum 1.3Ghz and 2gb ram for 4g android smartphone . please not 2K display … rubbish phone , i will never try ……

  in my opinion , the budget brand or phone from china brand , meizu , xiaomi , umi , ulefone is better me . please not try flagship phone more than 2ghz cpu . becuase of the flagship phone need the flaship software support.

For the flaship phone cpu more than 2ghz , i suggest meizu ,xiaomi ,huawei, nexus , samsung , the other china Mt6795 or Mt6797 phone only have specs , bad rom support , bad experience … for the real flagship phone . system and software is more important … anyway meizu note is a good smartphone ..

This is interesting in that Elephone’s rumoured helio X20 is scheduled for October release, this one in September and Mediatek saying the X20 isn’t being released till December! Can only think that MT have brought forward the release date to better compete with the upcoming SD820 and just haven’t publicly declared they have done so, either that or these phones won’t actually appear until xmas/new year at the earliest.

i understand your concers but since xiaomi came the chinese phone makers who really want to make it also itnernationally care more about hardware and software than any recognized international brand.. they tell you every detail of every specs of your phone so i guess we will see what phone will come out=) but you point just the right things out!!

Never gonna happen. That kind of screen is still a dream. Assuming it exists, it’s not gonna find its way on a budget phone. Not now, and not in following 2-3 years. This is a concept phone, not a real phone.
