UMi Zero 2 will see highly improved camera tech

The 2nd generation UMi Zero has been teased again telling fans to expect “the best Camera”, what this means is anyones guess.

The first time we spotted the UMi Zero 2 it showed up on it’s own dedicated Facebook page showing off not 1 but 2 screens. The Zero 2 is one of 3 up and coming dual screen phones from China and will compete with the Siswoo R9 Darkmoon and the Oukitel U6.

While we know the Zero 2 will feature a 5.2-inch front display and slightly smaller E-inch rear panel, other details haven’t been published until a leak earlier today.

The teaser simply tells us that;

“The best Smartphone Deserver the best Camera”

UMi obviously feel the Zero 2 will be the best phone in its field, but what “the best camera” could mean is anyones guess.

According to some reseller sites who have jumped the gun and already posted what specifications they believe the Zero 2 to have, the UMi Zero 2 will get a 13 mega-pixel rear camera. However, sources in Russia believe that UMi will use a 20 mega-pixel sensor.

Which ever sensor is used we just hope the lens and optimisation is up to the job of getting the best from the camera.

Umi have yet to prove they can deliver a good camera smartphone. Usualy they fail at this task.

They keep promising that ‘best camera’ thing a lot – not just UMI, but most of Chinese vendors. The truth is that very old Lumia 1020 still does it better, than probably any of the phones mentioned in this portal. Even Vivo Xshot didn’t get that enthusiastic marks for the cam, altho – hardwarewise – everything needed is there already.

    HOLY HELL !! and Gizchina never posted a THING about the Omega Pro … which really does sound like it honors the “Omega” in its name !

      Indeed, hopefully they do have good intentions and if OIS implemented at that price then WOW. Shame Omega Pro might steal their thunder with crazy deal.
      True so much going on in the China market and we only get the mainstream view. I love browsing the new release sections on reseller sites, lots of (potentially) interesting stuff that goes under the radar, or perhaps get a preview mention, but no follow up.
      Inew L4, could be interesting also, if it doesn’t suffer Inew random camera syndrome.

    P6000Pro had a Samsung cam promised too. Competitive portal had one for a stripdown and the cam appeared to be the Omnivision piece.
    I know it doesn’t necesarily mean it’s worse, but the fact is they lie a lot, and you just never know what’s inside and how it performs.

      interesting. early word was there would be some sort of choice between Samsung and Sony, but personally don’t mind OV, but still foul play on their behalf.
      I think these established brands get easily complacent, while the new guys have more to lose or prove, so hopefully adopters will strike lucky.

have you editors of gizchina finally noticed that your assumed release date of september the first is not correct?
this is the 3rd new announcement of the zero 2. see the small 3/9 in the corner? last news was 2/9, first one was 1/9. see the pattern?
so if you don’t have a confirmed release date, please change your speculations in the last articles… other sites are copying your news already. falsely i might add.
please upvote this so they can see it… driving me nuts for weeks now, honestly.
