The ZTE Axon Pro after being available for pre-order has now arrived on the market and is available for purchase from multiple retailers such as eBay, Amazon, Newegg, and ZTE’s own website.
The ZTE Axon Pro features a 5.5-inch, Sharp Continuous Grain Silicon, thin-film transistor (TFT) liquid crystal diode (LCD) display with a Gorilla Glass 3 panel, a Quad HD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440p (534ppi), a 2Ghz, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor (64-bit) with Adreno 430 GPU, 8MP front camera, a dual 13MP/2MP back camera combo with an f/1.8 camera aperture and dual LED flash, AKM 4961 Hi-Fi audio chipset, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. Keeping the lights on is a 3,000mAh battery, which should prove sufficient for a day or more depending on usage. ZTE’s thrown in a dedicated camera button along with the usual volume rocker and power button, a feature that will appeal to those who want a little retro appeal. The ZTE runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, the latest update to Google’s operating system.
The ZTE Axon Pro also comes with a standard 2-year warranty (though there is an $80 premium warranty option available) along with a pair of free JBL E-13 headphones, a $49 value.
Gizchina News of the week
The price tag for all of ZTE’s tech goodness is $449.98, which gives the Axon Pro a mid-range price for rather high-end tech. The Gorilla Glass 3 panel isn’t the latest in Corning’s Gorilla Glass tech (Gorilla Glass 4 is now available and on some high-end smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S6, and Galaxy S6 edge), but it’s more than sufficient to withstand 10-foot drops. The Snapdragon 810 processor has been the source of heated controversy (figuratively and literally), and ZTE’s website doesn’t specify whether or not the Axon’s 4GB of RAM is DDR3 or DDR4, though it may be safe to assume DDR3 RAM.
The ZTE Axon was made available for purchase yesterday, but today is as good a day as ever to get your new smartphone. You can get your ZTE Axon in Phthalo Blue, Chromium Silver, and and Ion Gold colors, but only ZTE’s own website offers all three at the moment. Newegg offers all three, but only has Chromium Silver available at the moment; Amazon only has the Phthalo Blue model available.
So, how about it, tech enthusiasts? Anyone up for the ZTE Axon? If you’ve purchased yours already, feel free to let us know.
