The Siswoo R9 Darkmoon dual screen phone is causing something of an excitement in the Chinese tech world. Ahead of its launch here is the first intro video.

Yotaphone were the initial innovators of the dual screen phone movement, but Chinese phone makers have quickly took note and embraced the idea. Smartphone maker Siswoo plans to be one of the first Chinese phone makers to launch their dual screen phone, which will be available to European customers, later this year.

The video shows a 3D render of the Siswoo R9 Darkmoon and lists a few of the phones more notable features, but actual photos of a working sample have already been released proving that the phone is more than just a concept.

We are still unsure when Siswoo will launch the R9 Darkmoon and what it will be priced at, but specifications seem firmly set and include a Medaitek MT6752 chipset, 5-inch FHD main display, 4.7-inch E-ink secondary display, NFC, 3000mAh battery and Qi wireless charging, 3GB RAM, 13 mega-pixel main camera and 8 mega-pixel rear.

Full details of the Siswoo R9 Darkmoon can be found ver on the Siswoo website.

Pretty bad ass. As soon as e-ink improves its refresh rates by at least a 5x factor I will go for a dual screen phone.
