Among the multitude of devices that Asus launched at the ZenFestival today, the ZenFone Max deserves the most attention for it manages to pull off something commendable.
The ZenFone Max comes with a 5000mAh battery inside a 5.2mm thick frame. Now, imagine what you could do with phones as thick as 8-9mm (aka phones with ‘normal’ thickness)!
Like other ZenFone devices, the ZenFone Max hasn’t the most eye-catching design (it might be me), but a 5.2mm body plus a 5000mAh battery does sound promising. Other than that, the ZenFone Max has a 5.5-inch 1280 x 720p display, a Snapdragon 410 processor with 2GB RAM and 8/16GB storage, a 13 mega-pixel rear camera and a 5 mega-pixel front facing camera.
Like the ZenFone Laser, this phone too offers laser autofocus.
What’s more, you can even charge other smartphones using this Android. Makes you wonder why in the world power banks are so thick and ugly!
Are slim phones your thing?

If the pricing is right, why not. Oh and the weight …
Nothing wrong with a nice thin device and huge battery, but what’s with the rubbish specs? With that much juice they could’ve fitted a FHD screen and decent CPU to make it desirable, but the sd400? No thanks.
i agree with the SoC it’s incredibly underpowered but I have no problem with a 720p screen it just means that battery will last even longer. They should have used the MT6752.
I don’t have an issue with a HD screen on phones 5″ or less but once a phone reaches 5.5 I think it becomes inadequate.
Yea I guess I can agree with you on that one. I have only two used 5.5 inch phones with 720p. One looked good, nowhere close to great, acceptable is probably a better word. The other was a disaster.
