Helio X10 powered Bluboo Xtouch will measure just 5.5mm

bluboo xtouch

Got to say I am pretty excited about the latest Bluboo phone. The Xtouch packs one of the year’s best processors, 4GB RAM, fingerprint scanner and will measure only 5.5mm!

Chinese phone maker Bluboo have already announced the most exciting details of their Xtouch a few days back. The attractive phone manages to get Sapphire glass, a powerful Mediatek Helio X10 chipset, 4GB RAM and a fingerprint scanner.

In a press release today Bluboo have confirmed that the Xtouch will also be a thin phone and hopes that the build quality will be on par of that of the OnePlus 2. When we spoke to our contacts at Bluboo they confirmed the thickness will be just 5.5mm!

Gizchina News of the week

bluboo xtouch

With a 5-inch display and slim body it leaves just enough room for a 3050mah battery which doesn’t really concern us. There are phones on the market now with larger 5.5-inch panels and only slightly larger batteries and with Mediatek energy saving features we think Bluboo could still give the Xtouch a respectable battery life.

We are still waiting for the release date and pricing for the Bluboo Xtouch and keep our fingers crossed the phone will match our expectations.

Looks very interesting! Currently have the LeTV One and the specs on this has me very intrigued. I’ll wait and see, if it shows to be a good phone I might buy it and pass my LeTV down to my brother.

You are aware that your LeTV One has a bigger screen though right?

Bigger is better ? 😀 That was certainly true in early smartphone development but right now phones have reached their size limit…

Some people would like to use 7 inch tablets which is fine but for some 5-5.2 inches is the limit and 5.5 is a bit too large.

nah, that can’t happen. 5.5mm at 5″ with 3000mah battery, too wonderful.

3050mAh in Doogee measurement units means 1650mAh real.

I hoped the phone will be in $250-300 price range, but considering this new info, I guess BluBoo will ask much more for it. Anyways, get on with the release already! 🙂 I can’t wait next month. At least give us some preorder option, if not full specs and price.

i don’t really care about the thickness, as long as they can fit at least 3000mah in there… please don’t go “slimmer for weaker battery” as many companies seem to be doing right now.

It’s nice and I’d love to have it but can I have it with less RAM ? I really, really don’t want 4GB of RAM.

I currently have 2GB and that’s more than enough for me. I don’t want to pay for more RAM and RAM also uses power so less means more battery life.

    • August 7, 2015

More RAM does not necessarily mean more power consumption from the RAM modules. 2x 1GB (2GB) RAM modules will consume exactly the same amount of power as 2x 2GB (4GB) RAM modules.

You should pray they can actually succeed in fitting that 5.5mm phone with 2400mAh battery. I dont believe it will really have 3050mAh battery.

      • Marius Cirsta
        August 7, 2015

Sure but that’s assuming that there aren’t more RAM chips being used in order to get to 4GB which I’m not sure is true.

There are no RAM modules here btw, just RAM chips.

Yes, I really doubt they can sqeeze a 3000 mAh but Asus recently announced a big batter slim phone too so there might be some new tech here.

          Memory configurations are determined by 2 things;
1 – What the chipset supports.
2 – what the top memory manufacturers are selling(they are the cheapest).

          Go checkout the Hynix website.

            August 8, 2015

No chipset here either 😀 Just a SOC … I know, I know, just saying this is close to a PC or laptop but not quite.

On the contrary more RAM means better battery life as you can keep more apps in memory. Keeping an app in memory saves power compared to lauching an app afresh.

      • Marius Cirsta
        August 7, 2015

I really disagree with this. It is true that apps might need some extra power on starup but this is minimal so more RAM doesn’t really save power ( at least not by much ) and who starts apps a lot all day long ?

        • True_Neutral
          August 7, 2015

It isn’t really minimal. Depending on the app you are using, some may have to decompress app assets (this is especially true for some games), which takes a few minutes. Others have to fetch stuff from server. Even Chrome and other web browsers have to download data if they have to redraw a tab. 2GB isn’t really a lot, my Nexus 9 has 2GB of RAM and minimal bloatware (since it’s a Nexus) and it can’t really keep more than 3 Chrome tabs open without having to redraw. The power draw of a phone’s radio is huge compared to the miniscule usage of RAM.

But hey, if you insist on having 2GB of RAM I have a Nexus 4 I can sell you 🙂

      August 8, 2015

as there will be two versions of this phone i’ll believe the pro version will be the one with 4GB of ram and the normal one will only get 2-3GB.
      my guess is:
      pro version – 4GB Ram, 32GB Rom, FHD, imx220, Helios x10, ~ 350-400€
      normal one – 2-3GB Ram, 16GB Rom, FHD, imx214, MT6753, ~ 200-250€

i’d still get normal version as it is pretty, small, has a decent battery and everything else is sufficient enough for every normal persons needs. 😉

      i’m so hyped… O.O

      • Marius Cirsta
        August 8, 2015

That would be nice indeed and I’ve seen such cases. Usually though it’s just the RAM that’s different … not many manufacturers bother with using a different SOC but RAM is quite easy , just use different RAM chips or use less chips.

It’s just speculation here but given how 3GB RAM configs are quite popular I’d say they might be using either 2x2GB RAM chips or 1GB + 2GB.

    • Max
      August 8, 2015

it’s both. there will be a “normal” xtouch and a xtouch “pro”. the pro version will have the imx220 (~20mpx) and the normal one will get the imx214 (~13mpx).
