This week on GizChina: Helio X30, Meizu MX5 and more


MediaTek has been improvising and impressing this year, ever since it announced the 64-bit MT67xx. Recently, the Taiwan based company announced the Helio X30.

In the meantime, we also reviewed the latest and greatest Meizu — the MX5, which incidentally comes with the Helio X10. Besides that, a lot of other stuff happened through the week… most of it noteworthy. Take a look at the most important bits from the past week, all in one place.

1. MediaTek Helio X30 announced

Like just mentioned, MediaTek’s on quite a roll this year. It doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon, with MediaTek having announced the MediaTek Helio X30 along with some other SoCs.

3. Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 specifications leak

Xiaomi FINALLY seems to be prepping a launch for the long overdue Redmi Note 2. The phone was just leaked via Chinese certification authority which also gave us a peak at the specifications of the upcoming phone.

4. Lenovo Vibe P1 comes with a 4900mAh battery

Lenovo’s Vibe P1 might not have the most original design (honestly, it is a very clear mash-up of some well-known phones), but the device will have something which might have you craving for one — a 4900mAh battery.

5. Top Chinese phones with fingerprint scanners

Long gone are the days of cheap Chinese clones. Phones are now coming with top of the line features, which now includes a fingerprint sensors. We listed the top Chinese phones that feature one!
