UMi have announced the full hardware specifications for their first USB Type C phone, making it the most affordable phone to feature the faster USB standard in the world.
UMi started a UMi Hammer S treasure hunt last week which allows fans to obtain codes that will win them a discount. The official retail price of the phone with international delivery is $159.99, but the codes give you the chance to win a discount of $20/$50 or even $100.
Even at it’s full retail price though the UMi Hammer S offers striking value for money with stand out features including USB Type C, 2.5D glass display, micro CS card support, large 3200mAh battery, IR blaster, and even a fingerprint scanner.
Other hardware details include a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 across the 5.5-inch display, a Mediatek MT6735 quad-core chipset, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, Sony IMX179 rear camera and Android 5.1.
The official launch date of the phone is the 15th September so we still have a month to wait before we finally go hands on with the new UMi handset.
More details of the UMi Hammer S can be found over on the official UMi Facebook page and you can take part in the Hammer S Treasure Hunt here. Also don’t forget we are giving away Hammer S codes in our giveaway! Take part here.

How about a 6 inch or 6,5 inch for a change. I ‘d buy it.
Your not alone, really tiring of all these run of the mill 5.5″ phones, a good 6″+ phone is way over due, so any manufacturer reading this…..
oh shut up, your tiny hands can barely hold a 6″+ phone. 5.5″ is the perfect size for a phone and that’s why its becoming standard and its already bordering on too big. Pls shut up and never speak about technology again. lol. Not joking
Since you have no idea what you’re talking about, how about crawling back under the rock you came from with your 4.7″ iphone crap and stop trolling this site. Not joking.
Right! I am a big guy with large hands. I need a bigger screen. What is the use of lte or great graphics if you have to watch it on a tiny screen.
Exactly, I’ve used other people’s devices with smaller screens and its tedious as best. Once you go large there is no going back. Since getting a 6″ device I’ve hardly used my tablet.
