We’ve all wondered just how much these dual-screen smartphones will cost at launch, and it is Oukitel who have finally come forward and put a price, and international pre-order, on their E-inch equipped phone.
For months now we have seen smartphone makers in China teaser that they will produce dual-screen phone, but so far we haven’t had a clue what these phones will eventually sell for.
Stores who have jumped the gun have suggested some really high price tags for a few dual-screen phones, but it eventually appears the final pricing of these phones won’t be as mush as we thought.
Oukitel have today announced that the pre-orders for the Oukitel U6 will soon start through online resellers at a cost of $239.99. The Oukitel U6 has a 5-inch HD main display with 4.7-inch rear e-ink panel.
The standard Oukitel U6 will come with a quad-core Mediatek MT6735M chipset, but for those of you who want to read at the speed of light an Oukitel U6 Pro with MT6797 Helio X20 chipset is also in the planning stages.
No but cheaper than buying a phone and e-reader I suppose, gotta look at the positives! Lol
hahah … yeah , thats a nice point !
@Rob: I’m not aiming to curb your enthusiasm, but what’s the fun in reading e-books on a 4,7″ screen? IMHO, this e-ink screen is only a nice feature (as in: gimmick) to quickly check an e-mail or any social media update.
No worries as I have zero interest in this phone. For once when a phone needs a 5.5″ screen so they can put a 5.2″ e-ink screen on the rear they opt for a 5″! Chinese logic! lol
Eh 6735m at this price is pure pornography…
Most of the cost went into the ink display ;(
This is their usual trick, although the value of this configuration is only $99, and finally they will say that our actual price is $139.
