The Meizu MX5 Pro has become a little bit of a will they? won’t they? rumour. We’re still not clear if the phone will eventually exist but if it does launch this could be the hardware specification.
This is the second rumour that suggests the upcoming Meizu MX5 Pro might sport a 6-inch 2K display, which sounds exactly like something Meizu would do i.e build a product with no thought to what the market actually wants (and then replace it a few months later with a new device).
The latest tip comes from Weibo user @Kjuma who has been really proving a reliable source on all things Chinese tech. The tipster tells his audience that the Meizu MX5 Pro will boast a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 panel, 4GB RAM, 32GB EMMC 5.0 internal memory, HIFI audio, 20.7 mega-pixel main camera with OIS, and a thin 7.2mm body.
Gizchina News of the week
Although thin the phone will have a 4100Ah battery, the same as the recently released ZUK Z1. Other improvements will also be seen in Flyme 5.0 and the fingerprint scanner home button.
Specification wise the Meizu MX5 Pro is a good looking phone for flagship phone hunters, but can Meizu really survive when they keep launching product after product, effectively replacing phones that are only a few months old?
This sounds really promising from my point of view, exactly what I’m after. If it does become reality then it will be interesting to see what SoC they opt for.
Probably the best SoC out of the current crop.
Hey mate, good news! The Xiaomi MI4I with Snapdragon 808 is official in China, it will have WCDMA and FDD LTE frequencies. I really hope that it will not be sold above $250. Cheers!
do you mind sharing the source?
the only news i found is that they came out with a MI4i limited edition with a SD615
made in India.
thanks a lot 🙂
The source is from Ibuygou shop on their facebook, here is a comment they posted:
“Mainland China Mi4i rumoured to be on the way!
According to reports the Mi4i will be making its way to the Chinese domestic market with a Snapdragon 808 CPU and support confirmed by MIIT also shows that this new Mi4i will support TD-LTE, LTE FDD, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, CDMA2000, CDMA 1X / GSM standard and dual card dual standby.”
If that’s true I will get it for sure, just hope that the price will not be high! I mean if Xiaomi make that move, the Mi4i will be a killer phone worldwide.
a MI4i with SD808 for 200$ would be another great deal.
Icing on the cake a MI5 with SD820 for 1999 CNY
I’ll be waiting patiently
Haha the MI5 with SD820 will be another killer phone from Xiaomi but in my opinion it will be sold around $390 – $430 (without shipping costs+after resellers) which is above my budget. Plus, I don’t need all that power (SD820) to be honest with you. I am definitely a fan of the Mi4i and the Redmi Note 2, if it takes months to see a Mi4i with SD808 then I will go for the Note 2 with 16gb ROM without any hesitation of course if the price difference between the 16GB and 32GB versions (Note 2 Prime) is huge. It will be great to see a price tag around $200 for the Mi4i but it will be above for sure. Just pray that they release a 32GB version of it.
