LeTV tease Snapdragon 820 powered phone

LeTV have already released 3 phones this year, but could be releasing a 4th powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset.

In a post over on their HongKong Facebook page, LeTV have teased a new smartphone model that will run the latest flagship chipset from Qualcomm. So far LeTV are already doing extremely well in China have sold 1 million phones in the first 3 months of releasing the devices, and now with a 4th device in the works they are likely to increase sales further.

Currently the LeTV range is made up of the Mediatek powered LeTV Le 1, and Snapdragon powered LeTV Le 1 Pro and Le Max. The only detail we know about the up coming device is the Snapdragon 820 chip and that the teaser looks similar to the Le 1 with a small chin area and narrow bezels.

  well i own a letv one pro and i got to say they are already minimal if they were thinner my hand (not fingers) would always touch the display and i couldnt navigate… so pls stop being stupid about bezels (btw top and bottom are not that big think about htc for example^^)

I wouldn’t be surprised if more SD810 devices aren’t replaced sooner than expected with the 820 due to all the bad press it’s recieved.

I would rather have it in an x20 chipset cause then i know, it’ll be affordable. But SD820, im still curious and interested to see whats coming from LeTV.

        you should really check your sources because Xiaomi is not a public company.
        They are one of the biggest (i think they are the third ones) Qualcomm’s customers.
        if they get a special treatment it’s because they bring money to Qualcomm.

        Just think little about it!
        On the other hand Qualcomm is using Xiaomi in this particular case (MI note 2) not to earn money but to literally destroy other Chinese OEM’s that based their products on X10. You know that they can afford it. What will they get from it? Well less competition in the future + they can always cut Mediatek (as they intend).
        One more information for you. Qualcomm fired 4.700 worker’s recently & mostly in US.
        Dirty deeds done dirty cheap… ?

        i see it in this way instead:
        Qualcomm invested 90M into a company that worth almost 60B makes them a partner in business and that’s it.
        they barely make the 2% of the company and when they sit on the table their decisions worth that 2%, nothing more.
        i believe they worth more than that 2% but far from leading anything.
        again, the news about xiaomi hiring qualcomm’s managers…
        so for the same logic i should assume that Google (Hugo Barra) owns Xiaomi too?
        they want to become the first manufacturer and for that reason they are hiring the right people to do so.
        What did you want to say about Qualcomm firing those people in the US?
        Qualcomm is an American company, with 30.000 employees, most of them are American.
        they lost 13% of revenue comparing to last year and they lost their biggest customer (Samsung).
        that’s why they beheaded those people

        Not really. This whose even transparent. They (Qualcomm) lost 13% (probably even more) of market share (by last survey I sow) & are paying a large fee from lawsuit in China. I just read a lot, sometimes even write something…

        I’m not surprised they fired so many people.
        saying “different” i didn’t mean in an offensive way, i just can’t see the whole picture the way you do.
        a Gizchina reader (i think it’s Angry Mobile Nerd) thinks that Xiaomi is a bluff and they are waiting to go public and cash all the money…

        i thought I’ve been pretty clear that we have different opinions and you could have stayed with yours like Angry Mobile Nerd was going to stay with his.
        looks like you are trying to convince me, keeping sharing articles of people that point how good was the investment that Qualcomm did with Xiaomi.
        of course it was, you don’t have to be a business guru to understand that.
        I can easily say that it’s a good investment to put some money into Xiaomi stocks once they go public without attending business school.
        but this doesn’t prove that Qualcomm LEADS or OWNS Xiaomi, it might INFLUENCE their path…i agree with that.
        anyway, i kept it too long too,
        i guess we’ll stay with our different “opinions” (because that’s what we have been talking about since there’s no fact involved)

  Really? Mediatek are yet to produce a chip worthy of a flagship phone on account of the poor GPU’s they keep putting in their SOC’s. Case in point, their best offering is currently being used in a budget phone – the Redmi Note 2.

    Sometimes they use Mali GPU same as Samsung In they x10 not but in the x20 they use good Mali.X10 scored as good as 810 but doesent overheat.It will cheaper because x20 is coming soon.

      Hopefully X20 will be the turning point for them. I’m not sure about the whole tri-cluster, 10-core CPU setup but the GPU should be roughly equal to that in the Snapdragon 810 which is a big improvement!

        You sure bro? Mediatek claims a 140% improvement over the X10. The X10 gets 27 fps in GFXbench T-Rex, so 140% improvement is 65 fps, more than the S6 or M9.

        Their exact words are “140% Higher GPU Performance”, this must mean a 140% improvement because if you switched 140% for 100% it would have to be interpreted that way otherwise there would be no change.
        However I’ve just found another reference saying ‘140% of X10’ so you’re probably right with 40%, maybe their marketing team got confused 🙂

        It’s not a confusion it achieve 140% of the performance of X10 (that is 40% more) as it’s quad cluster MALI from T800 series (me by even couple % more than that).

      It scores as good as S810 only in CPU tests with really good multicore (MP) suport & again with core pilot & employing all 8 cores.
      In the real usage scenarios straight of first two performance CPU cores is thing that really counts.
      In everything else it’s actually funny even to compare it with one of Qualcomms biggest misses (S810).
      Besides S820 is bringing a lot of new things; from costume in house made CPU cores, over to face lifted “New gen” Adrenos (just placement improvements with added hardware testilations advanced shading suport), Spectra ISP (probably FPGA with a fancy name), the same QDSP as on S810… Wile Mediatek have nothing (if you don’t count silly addition of more CPU clusters) & never really innovated anything worth of mention (core pilot is OK but nothing grandiose).

        As it’s dumb, not useful & waist of silicon as it does nothing (additional CPU cores – clusters) Instead of adding something more useful (special or general purpose accelerators ake gpu clusters, FPGAs , ASICS, DSP…)
