Does the newest Xiaomi revelation look as good on the inside as it does on the outside? Folks in China decided to take matters in their hands…
The Redmi Note 2 is the latest hot property from China. Touting a Helio X10 SoC, the Redmi Note 2 rivals the likes of the Meizu MX5 (and I daresay… the HTC M9+) with its processing prowess. Very recently, Xiaomi announced that it sold a hefty 800,000 of these in less than 12 hours!
Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 teardown
Take a look at the pictures of the teardown. Does appear as though the Redmi Note 2 is as well built as other Xiaomi phones!
The Redmi Note 2 sells for an incredible starting price of just 799 Yuan or US$125 in China. That is half the reason why the phone is already as popular as it is; the other half of the reason is in the chipset, and the PDAF enabled rear camera.
Are you planning to get one this season?
Anyone who can read Chinese? What does it say at the camera picture? Seems like an OV camera..
There is something writen about samsung.
OMNI VISION?
They make very good sensors. Most front camera sensors in phones today are made by Omnivision. A lot of companies can’t meet the demand of phones today so usually use two different sensors, Samsung is infamous for this. If the setup is the same in both though you won’t even notice a difference, in fact the OV might even be better.
Yash, you guys were supposed to announce winners of the Ulefone Be Touch 2 (Facebook best comment competiton) on 17th August.
Have the winners been announced?
Aren’t both those camera sensors omnivision? I’m sure the rear one is suppose to be Samsung. Anyone know the release date of the prime version?
I guess they are using both Samsung and OV sensors, not too uncommon for smartphone manufacturers.
back Samsung, front OV
Hy Andy, I have few questions.. please answer it.. it’s urgent..
I am from Pakistan and one of my friend is coming back from China and he said that he can buy me a redmi note 2 for 150$.. I wanted to know is this pice fair? and how many variants are there for redmi note 2 in China? storage options of 16, 32 or 64 gb? and here in Pakistan our network are on 3g 2100mhz and 4g 1800.. will there be any issues or all networks modes will work smoothly?
I would be grateful if any one can answer to my questions.. thanks
and one more does both sim slots work on 4g?
there are 3 version:
3G : 125$ (TD-LTE for China only)
4G : 140$ (FDD-LTE)
Prime : 155$ (FDD-LTE)
i don’t know which version he’s buying, but either way the price is fair because it you add reseller markup, shipping and taxes you would spend over 200$.
if you need 4G then make sure he’s sending you the right version with 4G (FDD-LTE) enabled.
the 4G version has the FDD-LTE Band 3 (1800 mhz) enabled so this phone will work with your carrier without any problems on 3G and 4G.
Storage:
16GB for the 3G version
16 GB for the 4G version
and 32GB rom for Prime version
all of them support SD card up to 32GB
The 125$ version supports 4G too.
you’re absolutely right sir
but the 4G of the first version is TD-LTE and not FDD
so that’s why i wrote 3G only.
I’ll fix the infos to avoid misunderstandings.
I can understand as the TD-LTE isn’t supported in Pakistan.?????
Helo AZZAN! It is completely compatible with pakidtan 4g(both zong n warid) and 3g(ufone,telenor,mobilink). That website does that with all their articles, it has the phone or brand name with some specs. You can see the same in this article about the Zuk:

I’m getting one as soon as i sell the Meizu M2 Note
OV camera sensor quality is not good compared to Sony Exmor
Not true. The Gionee E7 has OV sensor and its better than my One+ and Oppo 5 Sony. I owned all three phones.

I searched in omnivision website but I didn’t found a product with the code omiba08a1. Are you sure that the camera sensor is a omnivision?
