Doogee compare PDAF on the Doogee F3 to major rivals

Doogee have been ensuring that we all know the Doogee F3 will sport a Samsung 3M2 sensor, with PDAF, but what are the benefits of such a camera?

PDAF or Phase Detection Auto Focus, is a feature that many new phones are coming with, but still a lot of customers aren’t really sure what benefit the feature gives when taking photos.

If you want to get complicated and go in to all the details this link will help you with all the features of PDAF, but what it means for us is super fast auto focus. Not just fast though but accurate as well. PDAF is very well suited to smartphone camera as they are often used for those on the spot, unexpected photo ops.

As a comparison Doogee have shot a video comparing the autofocus time of their Doogee F3 with Samsung S5K3M2XXM3 sensor (the same seniors as the Vivo X5 Pro, Oppo R7 and Nubia Prague) to the focus speed of the iPhone 6, Huawei P8 and Meizu (the phone is labeled as an MX4 but we believe it is an MX5).

Doogee claims that the F3 focus can be as fast as 0.1 seconds making the 13 mega-pixel shooter on the phone perfect for last minute photos and action photography. Doogee will be launching the F3 later in the month with pricing from $149.99 rising to $169.99.

        I prefer Scotch or Irish whisky. 🙂
        But I also can not decide between these 2 phones. Doogee has very good specifications but I also know that hey can be false. Zopo never lied with specification AFAIK but their phones always had some flaws.
        I found some information that Zopo will release the sources for the Speed 7 and help developers to prepare custom ROMs (I’m interested in CyanogenMod). If there will be a CM ROM for Zopo, that would be a clear winner for me.

        I don’t want to pay much over 200 USD but my problem are the features I want. Phone must be 5″ or better smaller, must have LTE 800 MHz, SD card, compass, good camera and performance.

        Oh it is possible the m2 note (eh No lte 800mhz)
        The p8000! Eh no micro sd dodgy software and some issues

        I know it is hard. That’s why I’m still waiting to get my next phone.
        I was also considering Lenovo Vibeshot, but it is too expensive and I don’t like Lenovo bloated ROMs. And the cheaper Nubia Z9 Mini doesn’t have LTE 800 MHz.
        But I hope something nice will appear this fall. I’m also looking at Blackview Omega, Bluboo Xtouch and a few others. But I won’t buy any o these phones before reading a good review.

        The k3 note is a safe bet + supports 800 mhz great reviews + used it myself for 2 days – also has a giant rom base

        Unfortunately it is too big for me. I don’t want anything bigger then 5″. I would prefer 4,5″ or 4,7″ but such phones probably won’t be released.

        There was a rumored jiayu but no… maybe the mi4i…
        Or… Even the much hyped Doogee f3/pro which sounds nice on paper… Maybe doogee has changed ? I held a recent model and it was quite a surprise how well built it was …

        The mi4i doesn’t have LTE 800 MHz. The F3 (Pro) is one of the phones I’m considering. I currently have a Doogee phone. It isn’t that bad. It has some flaws but basically works fine. But they pissed me off by lying in specifications and I don’t trust them since then.

        “f3 pro” hardly lives on to his name, being the same exactly phone with the only add of an extra 1gb ram…
        Perhaps huawei p7 could be the solution to his problem? Or honor 6, if it drops down the price a little once the honor 7 is official in Europe…

      I’ve never tasted the jim beam (here in italy seems like they don’t import it), so… Sorry, i’m still stuck with mainstream Jack Daniel’s as my favourite whiskey xD

      Sorry for acting like a sarcastic b*tch… xD
      However, my brother wasn’t sure about onscreen buttons ether, but now he’s more that happy with his lg g2… So maybe it isn’t much of an issue once you actually try them out!
      And… Do you really think that “doogee” sounding like “dodgy” is just a coincidence? I really don’t think so… xD
