A fact that not a lot of smartphone enthusiasts know is that Xiaomi, for the first year of its existence, was a software-only company. It was only on their first anniversary that Xiaomi announced a phone! In fact, in the recent MIUI 7 global launch, Hugo Barra started off with the line ‘Xiaomi is a software company…’.
Xiaomi has revealed that the newest iteration of its MIUI ROM has already been ported to more than 70 non-Xiaomi devices. Which is impressive, because not even 10 days have passed since the official international introduction of MIUI 7 (more about which you can read here).
The ROM has been ported to not only the Nexuses, but also phones like the HTC One M8, Galaxy S5, etc.
You can go ahead and flash the ROM on your phone right away, or request for the ROM to be ported to your phone if that hasn’t happened already.
You can check if the ROM is available for your phone here.

I’m pretty much happy with performance on my not-officialy-supported Jiayu S2. Not saying it works flawlessly (it’s beta afterall), but it’s light years ahead of Jiayu stock rom. Would be even better if they soon release CM like they promised…
My Z5s runs pretty good with MIUI ROM, even I have a kernel to double tap to wake
