The LeTV Le Max has gained a lot of attention but it is an expensive phone outside of China, but if you don’t mind opting for a clone the Mu Lan L8 could be the next best thing.
Chinese phone maker Mu Lan is a totally new brand to us, but they have caught our attention out of the gates. The Mu Lan L8 Plus borrows its design from the 6.3-inch LeTV Le Max phone, but with a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 display rather than the larger 2K display.
The L8 Plus has an all alloy chassis, 2.5D glass front panel, rear fingerprint scanner, powerful Mediatek MT6795 octacore processor with 3GB RAM and 16GB internal memory.
Gizchina News of the week
Delving further in to the Mu Lan L8 Plus specifications we uncover a 2500Ah battery, 8 mega-pixel front camera, 21 mega-pixel Sony main camera, plus the 5.5-inch panel has borders that are only 1.3mm thick.
Mu Lan look like they might only officially launch their L8 Plus in China at around 2000 Yuan, but if it proves to be popular resellers are likely to start offering the clone.
What do you think of the L8 Plus? Are you willing to buy a knock off it it uses an alloy body and decent hardware, or are you happier to avoid clones no matter what?

from resellers the le max is out of the question, but this is perfect.
Surely this is a clone of the letv pro and not the max as it only has a 5.5″ display and no mention of hi-fi audio . The older mt6795 is an odd choice since everyone has gone the 64 bit route though, put the helio x10 in and larger 6″ screen and I’d be willing to chance it at the right price.
6795 is the helio x10 , your thinking of the 32bit chip 6595, letv pro does not have the fingerprint scanner
