Meizu’s MX5 is a fairly impressive device for what it costs, but it seems as though Meizu is keen on getting a device more powerful than that out there.
Its no secret that the company is working on one, too. The upcoming phone, regardless of what it’ll be called (MX5 Pro/Pro Plus?), is quite a bomb. If AnTuTu scores are anything to go by, the phone is quite a powerhouse for it scores a hefty 69,000 points on the benchmarking app!
Codenamed ‘NUIX’, the leaked Meizu phone comes powered by the Exynos 7420 (as seen on the Samsung Galaxy S6) and has 3GB of RAM to go along with it. We’ve heard rumours of a similar Meizu phone but with 4GB of RAM, but considering the potential of this device 4GB might not even be needed.
Gizchina News of the week
The AnTuTu leak also goes on to tell that it’ll be a 21 mega-pixel camera on the rear of the phone, possibly the same sensor as the MX5, along with a 5 mega-pixel front facer. There’s also a mention of 32GB ROM.
The listing says nothing about the screen size, but does show that it’ll be an FHD screen. Could the ‘NUIX’ have a smaller screen than the MX5? Meizu have a knack of producing offbeat screen sizes and aspect ratios, and the NUIX could be one that features those.
Mark my words, when Samsung’s 14nm Exynos 78xx series arrives, it’s pretty much going to screw over every other processor in town, in both synthetics as well as real world usage – doesn’t matter if it is QualComm’s 820+ SoCs or Mediatek’s Helio X50 with 20/30/40 cores.
Samsung is doing it right, and their SoCs are currently the absolute best (better than SD 805, 808, 810 etc.), with no competition from MediaTek whatsoever, and they are efficient too (thermal print wise).
Of course, if you talk about price brackets and commercial value ratios, then the argument is significantly different. But from a purist’s point of view, in terms of merit, nothing beats Samsung’s offerings as of date.
Can’t wait for the 78xx series to show up.
Yup. Samsung’s SoCs appear to be the best at the moment. If only there were more devices that came with them.
agree with you about how good their SoC is but there’s a problem:
Samsung is terrible for developers which means you won’t have any choice but deal with a crappy ROM full of bloatware.
It’s like having a super computer running windows millennium.
And then price, you mentioned it.
The way i see it, there’s no difference between Samsung and Apple.
Pretty much all exynos based phones have got CM (12.1 as of late):
wiki.cyanogenmod.org/ w/Devices#vendor=”Samsung”;cmversions=”12.1″;
(delete the space between / and w)
Maybe the situation is worse than with Qualcomms, but it’s faaar better than with Mediateks and certainly not as bad as represented (you certainly don’t *have to* deal with TW roms).
WAITTTTTT!!!!!! isnt the new Exynos chip using EPOPS tech and isnt it being manufactured using the new 10nm process that samsung have basically got nailed down already?????
