Snapdragon 808 powered Xiaomi Mi4C shows up at TENAA, priced around $251

The next addition to the Xiaomi Mi4 series has appeared at TENAA showing off a 1.8Ghz Snapdragon 808 chipset.

Imagine the Xiaomi Mi4i with more powerful hardware and you already have a very good idea what the Xiaomi Mi4C is going to look like. TENAA documents show a phone with the same white polycarbonate body as the Mi4i and includes the same camera, flash and main speaker location areas.

Physically I like the Xiaomi Mi4i, but that Snapdragon 615 really does hinder the performance of an otherwise great phone. For the Mi4C, Xiaomi have ditched the 615 in favour of a Snapdragon 808.

The TENAA details also mention 2GB RAM, 16GB memory, Android 5.1.1, while packaging from the phone also states a 3080Ah battery and USB Type C. Pricing in China is thought to be around 1559 Yuan ($251), but expect the price to rise once resellers get their hands on them.

After using the Mi4i and enjoying the body, feel and camera, I really hope that Xiaomi have managed to get the performance right in the latest rendition.

I can hardly imagine Xiaomi is only sell 100,000 units in total. More like 100,000 units in the first batch. Then weeks thereafter, more units will be available for sale.

I saw some news reports about the 100,000 units somewhere else, but it is most likely a translation error from the Chinese source.

Yes, but selling 100,000 units of the mi4c in total does not make any sense to me. They want to sell as much as possible.

Some news today has mentioned that Mi5 could have Snapdragon 810 instead, so this phone may not be delayed after all.

I am going to buy the 3GB RAM +32GB ROM version, since there is no microsd card slot. Pricing from 1199 yuan to 1499 yuan has been mentioned, so from 192 to 240 us dollar.

i believe there’s something wrong with the price:
if price starts from 1599 CNY then I’d say it’s overpriced.

the SoC might be good (on paper), but it’s still a plastic-made phone without premium elements.
If we consider that their flagship has been always priced at 1999CNY then there’s defintely something wrong with this MI4C.

I hope that priced is referred to an advanced model (more ram, more rom), otherwise i’m afraid the MI5 is going to cost more than the usual 1999CNY.
