Asus VivoStick runs Windows 10, fits in your pocket

Windows powered sticks are nothing new; they’ve been around for a while (right from the MeeGo Pad T01). Asus announced another one of these, but somehow the easy-on-the-eyes form and a decent spec set make it attractive.

The VivoStick as it is known, comes with Windows 10 and aims to kick the Intel Compute Stick out of contention. It attempts to do so by having a nicer design and a prettier price tag; the VivoStick goes for US$129 apiece against the US$150 for the Compute Stick.

It comes with the same 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM though, and a Cherry Trail processor from Intel. With figures of 138 x 34 x 15mm, the VivoStick will easily fit in the smallest of pockets. To turn it into something usable though, you’ll have to supply it with a display (there’s HDMI support), and some input devices such as keyboards and mice.

If you’ve made up your mind on getting one, you’ll have to choose a color; the VivoStick will ship in  Blue, black and white… when it does ship. Asus hasn’t yet announced the date yet.
