Samsung’s edge experiment has paid off. The S6 edge+ is the company’s third phone to offer a display with curved edges, which is testament to the success of the concept.
From what we’re hearing, Huawei might just have picked up the idea to make a new phone with a curved AMOLED display. What’s more, the display isn’t just expected to be curved on both sides, but the resolution too is set to be a retina-shredding 2K pixels.
According to sources, this Huawei phone could come in the first half of next year. If you’ve been following GizChina lately, you’ll be reminded of the Xiaomi phone which too could have an edge-like display.
Huawei are said to have made a deal with Samsung for the 2K curved displays for this, which seems like a fairly wise thing to do because Samsung, with their experience, are the obvious choice for something like a curved display.
There’s no word on the screen size of this Huawei phone however. It might not be a bad idea for Huawei to make a device that’s fairly similar in size to the S6 edge or the edge+, because we all know what Chinese OEMs can do with their pricing tricks.
