LeTV Hire Shanghai GM President to work on Electric Vehicle division

Xiaomi are rumoured to be working on an electric car, but it is LeTV who have confirmed they are going ahead with an Electric Vehicle and have already made major hires.

LeTV started has a video streaming service, but quickly went on to become an Android smart TV maker, OS provider and disruptive smartphone maker. The brand also has a huge number of other productions ranging from audio accessories to VR headsets and even a bike!

LeTV are now building the team which will work on the Electric Car project. The company has already taken on Allen Lu of Nissan Infiniti, and has now hired former Shanghai GM President Ding Lei.

With LeTV’s drive to become a leading global appliance and vehicle maker and Ding’s 23 years of experience in the car industry the team have the makings of an exciting car project.

    now … i might sound redundant … BUT why doesnt china focus on creating CHEAP killer cars ? at INSANE prices?

      They are already doing that. Look around gizchina, you will find some.

        yeah … but im looking for something below $4000 and pretty sure … thats a hard price point

      THere is a differnce between that – overall quality , availability of pieces , almost unexistant service in other countries (except for ‘bigger’ companies like geely etc) Its not the same as buying a chinaphone lol
