Meizu has confirmed it will release Flyme 5.0 on the 23rd September at the same time as their new product launch.
Meizu recently sent out launch invites which included Go Pro cameras, which is undoubtedly for the new Meizu 5 Pro event, but it will also be the launch pad for Meizu’s latest version of Flyme.
Even as someone who writes about Chinese tech for a living, it is really quite hard to keep up with Meizu these days. Over the past 12 months the Zhuhai phone maker has released 7 phones so far, but has barely been able to keep them all up to date and running a bug free OS, and now they are preparing to launch a new Flyme version!
Not being a regular user of Meizu or Flyme it doesn’t affect me directly, but I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for owners of the MX4, MX4 Pro and original M1 phones. Only a few months old and already out of date.
We wonder if Meizu will also announce Flyme 5.0 for their previous generation phones during the event, but more importantly if they will receive a timely update.
Glad I went for a OnePlus One then as it was a toss up between the 2 for me at the time…
15months on and it’s still going strong 🙂
I was thinking about MX4 too, but also Huawei Honor 6.
Oneplus was my choice and I don’t regret.
