This hands on video posted by Elephone shows just how good the Elephone M1 looks, but what about those bezels.
When we first posted leaks of the Elephone M1 we were excited by the prospect of the phone. Those early images promised a phone with Elephone’s low-cost, good hardware, but an all new build quality not seen from the phone maker before.
The above video does confirm a great looking device with beautiful alloy construction and interesting floating screen design (similar to the OnePlus 2), but it also shows us something else which has plagued recent Elephone devices.
Gizchina News of the week
If you didn’t catch them the first time around watch the video again and check out the bezels on the phone. When the screen shows a black background the bezels are notable but once visible they are very thick.
The thickness of the bezels do explain why the 5.5-incher looks so huge in the hand. If you can look past the black borders though the device does also feature a rear fingerprint scanner, and will be the first USB Type C Elephone to be launched.
Other details include a 13 mega-pixel rear camera, 8 mega-pixel front and 1.3Ghz Mediatek processor.

i have one more suggestion for the site i will post it to your comment later on facebook. thnks for removing rainbow colors.
Yep, decreasing the size of those bezels seems to be a very large hurdle that Elephone just don’t seem to be able to jump over…
Or maybe they’re just not even trying?
i don’t know why they don’t just make the bezels the same colour as the rest so you would have real bezels and not just a black frame…
Honestly wouldn’t care that much about the size of the bezels if they made it the same color as the rest of the face.
And that’s the crux. It’s not as if Elephone is making bezels, it’s a part of the screen component. It’s then up to the phone manufacturer to hide them. Some screens will obviously have smaller bezels but there’s probably a cost factor or they’d be embedded into glass to protect the edges.
