THL list an updated THL 2015

THL was once a well known and a very talked about manufacturer on GizChina, but the fame has died down in the recent months. THL seem to want to revive that, and have updated their THL 2015 — as the 2015A — smartphone.

The THL 2015A is, more than anything, a knocked down THL 2015. It comes with the MT6735 chipset that every manufacturer is going gaga over, and with that it has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of RAM. Compare this to the octa-core MT6752 of the original THL 2015, the 2015A does certainly fall into the second place.

The display size remains the same 5-inch, but the resolution is now a knocked-down 1280 x 720p from the 1080p panel of the original. Other specs of the 2015A include a 2700mAh battery, and a 13 mega-pixel main camera. Also note that a fingerprint reader that was found on the rear of the 2015 does a disappearing act.

There’s no word on the pricing of this one yet, but expect it to cost around the $120 mark.

Like Jiayu, THL had very good quality phones, with higher prices. Like Jiayu, I think it’s very hard to compete with all these low cost models that we see our days. The quality based brands have though times right now, because quality costs and people are lured by new manufacturers with low prices, agressive marketing and (too) many phone models. I personally think that THL phones have better quality to price ratio than many of phones today, but people will always be attracted to lower prices.

THL 5000 was a sick sick phone. My friend got it and it’s totally worth the money.

Exactly. I didn’t own one but everything seemed very good on that phone. Camera, battery, screen, and so on.

Still waiting for Android 5.0/5.1 for my 2015…
I love this phone, it’s seriously good quality manufacturing and a performance beast, but if THL don’t get off their arses and make a Lollipop update for this phone, it’s going on eBay.

I love this phone, it’s seriously good quality manufacturing and a performance beast, but I want Lollipop.

Although to be fair the KitKat they have provided is ultra-smooth and stable, whereas some other MT6752 phones have received Lollipop that’s really buggy (the Elephone P7000 kind of springs to mind).

Somewhere read, thl closed. Brand factory does not exist anymore. Is this true? If is true, is very bad news for the chinese smartphones, because i think thl create good smartphones. I bought 2 phones for me and two friends (2 thl 4000 and 1 thl t5s -no this year) and all is perfect.
