If there’s one thing (besides making phones, that is) that OnePlus know really well, it is marketing their products. There was a teaser which was sent out by the Shenzhen-based recently, showing something which certainly wasn’t a phone or anything close… because it was fabric.
Turns out, it was a leather case for the OnePlus 2 which the company want to sell for US$100. OnePlus also say that the case will be made in Italy, out of ‘ash grey washed and traditionally tanned buttery soft leather’ in an attempt to justify the high-ish asking price of the leather case.
The case is handmade by at Hard Graft, mentions the listing which also said at the time of writing that the product was out of stock.
OnePlus have forever maintained that they sell their phones at near-cost, while the profits come from accessories. One can’t help but imagine that quite a chunk of it will come from the Hard Graft Wild Phone Case, given the kind of appeal — and pricing — it carries.
