Doogee are set to release their first phone with front facing fingerprint scanner, but it will be an entry-level handset not a flagship.
Doogee have their range of phone split in to different categories and it is the aim of the ‘Y’ series to offer value phones for shoppers on a budget. The ‘Y’ range was designed with young people aka students in mind, but anyone looking for an affordable phone should take a look.
New for the latter half of the year is the Doogee Y200. This phone is planned to launch sometime in October, and comes with a large 5.5-inch 720p display, and MEdiatek MT6735 chipset plus 2GB RAM for decent performance.

Doogee’s main selling point for the Y200 will be it’s physical home button with integrated fingerprint scanner for fast and secure access for only the owner of the device. Similar fingerprint sensor have been used on the Meizu MX5, ZUK Z1 and the iPhone 6S.
Doogee also mention that the Y200 will come with a metal from, Android 5.1 Lollipop, 5 mega-pixel front camera and 8 mega-pixel Sony main camera. Pricing it not announced, but we expect the cost to be competitive and with availability in the EU through official distributors.
