Weimei, a new startup headquartered in Spain, is setting out to change the notion of how you buy smartphones. If you want to live on a better budget than you have up until now, Weimei says it has the phone for you. The company is offering a octa-core smartphone running Android 5.1 Lollipop for a low price. The smartphone is called the Weimei We.
The Weimei We features a 5-inch, IPS LCD screen with an HD resolution of 1280 x 720p (320ppi) with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 to protect the display from drops and element impact. Weimei says that its in-cell display and JDI PixelEyes provide a sharp, vibrant viewing experience. The Weimei We has an octa-core, MediaTek MT6753 processor with ARM’s Cortex A53 64-bit architecture, 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM, and 16GB of storage with a microSD card slot that can be expanded up to 64GB. The Weimei We has a 5MP Omnivision front camera with an f/2.0 camera aperture and front flash, and 13MP Sony IMX214 back camera with an f/2.0 camera aperture and dual flash. The We’s back camera provides 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second.
The Weimei We is dual-SIM, has 2 microphones (one is noise-cancelling), and contains your typical 3.5mm headphone jack along with FM radio, professional bass speakers, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS with a 2,600mAh battery that should last a day, Weimei says, though it points to the “intelligent power management system in Android Lollipop” to secure one-day battery life. To top it all off, Google’s current sweet treat of stock Android 5.1 Lollipop (no skinned UI) is aboard, and all of this adds up to the low, low price of 189.90 euro. To find out more, you can visit Weimei’s website below.
What do you think? Is the new Weimei We something you’d be interested in? What would your ideal tablet have at this price point?

i didn’t know Spanish people looked so much as Chinese.
U made my day!
P. S. Those Chinese-looking Spaniards are probably from the South, you know they close their eyes because of the bright sun. Legit.
LOL! XDDD (me being Spanish)
for this price you get a xiaomi redmi note 2 with better specs and software update
I think a Spanish or other European company should not pick a Chinese (or Chinese sounding?) name as their company name — it would be confusing for their customers, and many people may mistaken it for a Chinese company and be put off because of the bad reputation that Chinese companies have for quality.
The website is owned by a Spanish wholesaler, so seems credible, but can we wait until there is concrete evidence and at least a fully working website before pushing these new brands.
Humm, I love Star Wars
I KNEW IT … someone was gonna mention the poor babe … :p
Very average specs. There are much better deals from Chinese manufacturers directly (I presume this was manufactured in China anyway). Where is the “save money” aspect of this startup?
Wow awful article and a lot of typos like “what is your favorite tablet” The fk ? its a 5 inch phone
Those 2 guys there are totally spanish – havent seen such a legit article since i saw russian news
We already have BQ, more social…
how da hell can a 5.0″ HD screen has 320ppi? 294 only … how can GizChina just get paid and post company’s PR scripted announcements out without even proof-reading … GizChina is absolutely going against all ethics … All the positive reviewed phones are being sold in GizChina shop .. fake reviews, specs and even comments everywhere …. For god sake, as a professional tech review editors, do proof-read your posts and verify them …..
i have to agree. for such price, you could get more options out there with better specs. if this is true, i can only say what a bad start.
