The Xiaomi Mi Pad has been on the market for a long time now. The device remains to be the first and only Xiaomi tablet thus far. Rumours of the successor of the device have been making rounds for a long time now, but it is only now that things are starting to clear up for the Mi Pad 2.
The tablet was spotted at a certification authority’s database earlier today. Xiaomi got into a bit of a partnership with Microsoft some months back, which even brought a Windows OS to the Mi 4. Word is that the next generation Mi Pad will have support for Microsoft Windows, but there’s no confirmation on that either from Microsoft or Xiaomi.
Gizchina News of the week
The listing mentions the charge rating of the Mi Pad 2 as 5V 2A, which is nothing out of the ordinary.
Xiaomi’s keeping itself quite busy lately. After announcing the high-on-spec Redmi Note 2, the young Chinese company is set to announce the Mi 4c early next week. Previous rumours have suggested a Q3 2015 launch for the Mi Pad 2, could the Tuesday event have something more than just the Mi 4c in store?
The original MI Pad was really awesome, the first Chinese tablet who can fight the iPad, and costs HALF OF HIS PRICE. But it was too small. 7.9 inch is a mini tablet. Tablet have to be around 10-12 inches. 9.7 like the iPad is also fine. I wish for a bigger display for the MI Pad 2. It can fight the iPad pro.
It’s not the MiPad 2. The screenshot shows the Tenaa certification listing of the Indian MiPad flavor.
Why would anybody want Windows on a tablet. You immediately cut out the large majority of tablet apps and switch them with aging and bloated Windows apps.
Its not as if you’ll be able to play new AAA games on a weak tablet, and the tablets more expensive now as you have to use x86. Theres no real benefit that I can see.
When you have dual OS, you will know how awesome to use both windows programs when work is needed and android apps when you are on casual lifestyle.
Only brands already did it: Teclast , Cube , Chuwi but if Xiaomi make one that would be very great to have both MIUI and Windows 10 in one device.
Except those Apple’s app store only apps, it’s kind of getting more thing to use in one device.
