Xiaomi will bundle an adapter which will let you use micro USB cables with the Mi 4c

If you aren’t aware, Xiaomi’s Mi 4c will feature a USB Type-C port, which is something Xiaomi boss Bin Lin announced via Weibo recently. However, if you, like me, find it cumbersome to carry around an extra USB Type-C cable each time you’re on the go, Xiaomi might have a solution.

The USB Type-C totting Mi 4c will come bundled with a micro USB to USB Type-C adapter. In other words, there’ll be a little tiny gadget in the box which will let you use your traditional micro USB cable with the Xiaomi Mi 4c.

It might not sound like much, but it is one those things the value of which you realize only when you experience them first hand. USB Type-C is very convenient, but only when you have the right cable with you.

Reports also suggest that the Mi 4c might be made in limited quantities, with some suggesting that there’ll be only 100,000 of these.

Xiaomi will want to improve upon the Mi 4i, which was a phone with an immaculate screen, brilliant form factor but a let down with performance for many. The Mi 4c will make a shift to the hexa-core Snapdragon 808 from the octa-core Snapdragon 615 of the Mi 4i.

Do you still get USB 3 speeds when you use the adaptor? Just curious as it’s pointless having USB c if you lose the extra speed.

      of course not
to achieve USB3 speed, microusb should have extra pins like in microUSB 3.0
