Yuandao, or Window/Vido as they’re known, have updated their existing M82 tablet to offer something extra at a very nominal price point.
The new tablet — the M82 Pro — comes with a MediaTek MT8735 processor, which you can think of as the tablet equivalent of the MT6735 (which is a bit of a rage among smartphone makers at the moment).
The larger insides of a tablet should give the MT8735 plenty exposed surface area to be able to cool down much faster, and thus with pretty much the same specifications, the Yuandao M82 Pro will be a little faster and efficient than other MT6735 phones.
As for the full specifications of the M82 Pro, the tablet will have the same 8-inch 1280 x 800 pixel screen and 1GB RAM as the original M82, but storage will double to 16GB. It’ll have a 5 mega-pixel rear camera and a VGA front facing shooter with a 3400mAh battery.
What’s most interesting is that the M82 Pro will support 4G LTE networks (this includes FDD LTE, TDD LTE, HSPA+, TD-SCDMA, CDMA200 and EDGE) via means of a mini SIM. You’ll also be able to make calls from the tablet, which is kind of cool.
Pricing for the M82 Pro in China is set at 588 Yuan (US$92), which sounds OK for a device of its specifications.
