Buying a smartphone such as the Huawei Mate S is a wonderful experience when it’s the one that you want. However, waiting is always the hardest part: knowing when it’ll be up for grabs where you live, how much you’ll pay for it, if you’ll buy the phone in question or wait for another phone to be announced. It can all be a headache, but part of the waiting process is now over for European buyers. If you’ve been waiting for the Huawei Mate S to arrive in Europe, your wish has been granted. Sort of, anyway.

The Huawei Mate S is now available for pre-order in Europe with a price tag of £469 for UK residents (€649 for non-UK European residents). If you need a refresher, keep in mind that the Huawei Mate S comes with a 5.5-inch, AMOLED ONCELL display with a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080p, a octa-core, Hisilicon Kirin 935 processor (Quad 2.2Ghz + Quad 1.5Ghz), 3GB of RAM, 8MP front camera with an f/2.4 aperture, a 13MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture, optical image stabilization (OIS), and dual-LED flashes. The Huawei Mate S comes in mystic champagne and Titanium Grey colors, runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with Huawei’s Emotion UI 3.1 overlay out of the box, the latest in Android, and comes with 32GB of storage. Keeping the lights on is a 2,700mAh battery. For the battery size and screen resolution, you should be able to get a full day (if not more) out of the Huawei Mate S before the day ends.

Other details about the Huawei Mate S are that you’ll receive the unlocked model but you must order the smartphone through Huawei’s own Vmall store online.

As for when you can expect the Huawei Mate S to land in your hands, you’ll have to wait 4-5 weeks to receive the device. The Huawei Mate S headed to Europe and the UK is the base model, not the luxury Huawei Mate smartphone with Huawei’s touted “Force Touch” feature that lets you measure an orange on the device. Huawei showed off the Mate S’s “weighing skills” during the product announcement.
