Coolpad Rogue is a $50 4G phone with Android 5.1 Lollipop

The Coolpad Rogue might sound like a phone meant for the conmen, but given what it has on offer even the most decent of people will be interested in getting one.

The USP of this phone is its price. The Coolpad Rogue is a $50 phone. It’ll go on sale via T-Mobile starting 30th September, Wednesday.

Besides being available only on T-Mobile, you’ll have to give up on some other goodies (or ease of use) that you will usually find on other, more expensive phones. But if you just want a phone that does fast data, the Coolpad Rogue is for you. Perhaps something you could use on the go for your WiFi hotspots.

The phone comes with a 4-inch 800 x 480 pixel display and is powered by a dual-core 1.1GHz processor from Qualcomm Snapdragon. With that, there’s 1GB of RAM, 4GB of on-board storage and a microSD slot that takes cards up to 32GB in size.

It has a 2 mega-pixel rear camera and a VGA front camera, should you ever really feel the need for one.

1GB RAM at $50 for a domestically available (i.e., something you don’t need to import from China) isn’t all that bad. If you, however, don’t mind spending another forty bucks, the Elephone Trunk could be a good deal.
