While it may have seemed a bit awkward to see someone carry a huge phone 7 or 8 years ago, these days it’s completely normal to see a person using a huge smartphone or phablet. You might even see them on a daily basis now, and this all started thanks to Samsung’s Galaxy Note, which put the large screen to good use with it’s stylus commands.
Fast forward a couple of years, and almost every manufacturer has a large smartphone on sale, even Apple. Despite that, not many of them have managed to utilize those large screens in a similar fashion to Samsung’s Galaxy Note devices and their stylus features. Even Apple’s own iPhone 6+ has barely anything that differentiates it from the competition. According to a report however, it seems that Huawei may be looking to challenge Samsung authority in phablet devices with their own version of the integrated stylus.
Gizchina News of the week
This seems to be a pretty logical step for Huawei. They’ve been trying their best to claw their way into the US market, and what better way than to capitalize on the changes that have been made to the Galaxy Note series? According to the source, Huawei originally planned to work with Wacom, the same bunch that optimize the stylus for the Galaxy Note devices, but were unable to continue due to undisclosed reasons. The reports does say that they still managed to get another stylus manufacturer to work with them to compete with the Note devices, so the reality if a new Huawei device with a stylus may not be too far from us.
Would you like to see a Huawei device with similar functionality to a Galaxy Note device? Personally, I’d love to see something like a Huawei Mate stylus. What do you think about this news? Tell us in the comments below.
