Meitu are the makers of one of the most popular beauty apps in China and make selfie-centric devices like the Meitu V4 with 21 mega-pixel front camera.

Take a look at the current crop of Chinese smartphones and you will see a trend moving toward the use of better front cameras and 21 mega-pixel rear sensor, but Meitu are the first to combine to two.

These trend setters have added a 21 mega-pixel camera up front on their V4 smartphone, meaning uber high-resolution photos featuring the best duck face you can pull.

Being a Meitu the sensor will won’t be the only advanced camera feature and we should also expect high end optics plus leading software for adding make-up and softening skin tones.

Gizchina News of the week

To say I am excited about this phone is an understatement! If I managed this photo with the Oppo N1 then imagine what I could do with the Meitu V4!

A 21 mega-pixel camera takes up the rear position too, so 64GB memory has been drafted in as standard. TENAA details also point out a 5-inch OLED display, 3GB RAM and a 2Ghz chipset!

Seriously, Andi, you could easily impale someone with those eyelashes!

    P. S. That phone may take best selfies in town, but is (direct translation from Spanish saying) “as ugly as hitting your father with a sweaty sock”.

That’s a design flaw. They inadvertently switched front with the back 🙂
