Elephone reckon the Vowney is under production

If there’s one Chinese smartphone company you can run, but can’t hide from, it’s Elephone. The company has been in the news for all sorts of reasons, and today there’s another.

The folks at Elephone reckon the upcoming Vowney is already under mass production. If you remember, the Vowney first broke cover in early 2015, and with it’s promise to deliver high-end hardware at an affordable price, won a lot of media footage and attention from prospective buyers.

Andi even managed to get a little hands-on time with the phone a couple or so weeks back. The Vowney is supposed to have a 2K display, 4GB of RAM, a 21 mega-pixel main camera, Android 5.1, a 4000mAh battery and of course, a fingerprint sensor.

Elephone say that the Vowney is under mass production (and even sent over some images you can see on this article), and go on to suggest that pre-orders would begin mid-October with deliveries commencing by the end of the month. But like you, I take this bit of news with a pinch of salt… or maybe more than that.

Nonetheless, the Vowney should be an interesting device. Recently, we posted a hands-on with the super affordable Elephone Trunk, which you should check out here.

Please elephone, NO MORE BIG BLACK BEZELS, the people want BEZELESS over the 77% screen body ratio

Yeah that would be awful, but most I’ve seen are mere millimetres. It’s not as if they are sourcing their screens from North Korea or something. The bezels are pretty much standard unless you get special glass moulded screens that can butt right to the edge without protection, or by tricks the manufacture hides the bezels.

ok im with you , elephone can use the normal bezel wich is that matt said before 2-3 mm without the + 3mm black ugly bezel ,

i know i’m in the minority these days, but the bezels really don’t bother me at all. that being said, i probably still won’t Elephone any time soon. hopefully they’ll prove all of us doubters wrong

Bezels don’t bother me either, i don’t like bezeless phone at all to begin with. But there’s a difference between the 2-3mm bezels of normal phones, and elephone’s phones: they have 2mm real bezels, and 3mm of black, ugly bezels, completely destroying the design of the device! And, sadly, this vonwey won’t be any different…

I think Elephone have invested in metal frame creation so they can get screens closer to the edge with the frame.

Cool news. I hope they get review versions of the phone out, so that people know what really is the end product.

They have been going to produce vowney since the beginner of year and now it is still under production. Are they going to release 1 billion all in once? This is just like a bail they used to keep people’s attention to their brand. They actually never produce it because they know no one would buy it. And as far as i know ZUK has break up with elephone, because they failed to lick the ass of Lenovo very comfortably.

How to determine the production is Vowne? Because we can not see any information determined to be Vowne, so it is likely to be misleading, is untrue news, because now in production from the picture, a few days it should be shipped, do a mobile phone production many days need it?I hope that the next message can have ulefone such a clear picture. So we can believe it.

The Win10 dual boot version of the phone (Vowney pro?) seems to have been scraped. So sad :/ .

It would have had been the first PC/phone hybrid (there is literally no pocketable pc to this day , those pc sticks need a monitor to operate).

One sales site is saying November 30th as shipping date. If that’s true than it’s making me looking out for alternatives.

So sorry if I hurt your feelings, just trying to point it out for those still with fingers crossed that they won’t blow it up and make it right as it seems they did with the trunk as Andi got first impressions the other day.
