Ulefone begin presales of their first wearable with the first 20,000 watches being offered at a special introduction price of only $29.99.
If you take a look at the number of wearables on the market now you might believe that the market is thriving, but the reality is that many consumers are still not convinced about current generation smartwatches.
Android Wear devices are by far the most advanced and feature packed, but it is hard to justify spending a couple of hundred $ on a watch that will be obsolete in a few months. Therefore more customers have been checking out what China has to offer.
Current Chinese wearables, like the new Ulefone uWatch, might not come with Android Wear OS, but in all fairness offer many of the same features. Call notification and answering, SMS notification, health and sleep monitoring, camera control etc are all available and a much lower pricing.
Ulefone are just starting with their wearable range with the 2.5D glass and alloy uWear, but at only $29.99 it is a low priced device and a neat introduction to the wearable market, but is it affordable enough to tempt you?
