Android 5.1 Lollipop comes to Huawei Honor 6 and Honor 6 Plus in Europe

Do you own a Huawei Honor or Honor 6 Plus smartphone? If so, you’re in luck. Huawei is now pushing out Android 5.1 Lollipop to the Honor and Honor 6 Plus in Europe after first testing the software extensively in France.

Android 5.1 Lollipop brings some bug fixes and improvements from Google for Android, along with Huawei’s own improvements for its Emotion UI (EMUI). Additions to Huawei’s emotion UI for Android 5.1 Lollipop include improved notifications, Wi-Fi management, and a one-handed mode that lets you use the device with one hand.

Hmm not very promising for the Honor 7 I’m about to order. Then again, better late then never :). I wonder if the 6 will ever receive Android M.
If only the Honor had stock or CM, it would’ve been mine already.

I own a H60-L02 and I’ve been running the stable lollipop rom for 6 days already and what I can tell you is that in my opinion its not worth upgrading from kitkat. The only positive aspect of this rom is kind of better notifications, everything else is a regression. Performance is noticeably worse (about 6% less fps in the game I tried), as is battery life. On kitkat I could easily achieve 7.5 h screen on time, now it only lasts for like 4.5 hours and I’m not even doing anything heavy – just surfing the net on wifi or data connection. The dialer only works the second time you tap a contact, the first attempt briefly shows you the call interface and instantly closes it, then you have to make the call again and only then it works. Maybe some of these issues could be solved by doing a factory reset – I don’t know. I don’t really want to do a factory reset as I haven’t got time for that. I’d advise you to wait until another build is released by Huawei and decide based on what people are saying.

Great update for my H60-04, so I don’t agree at all with the comment below. System is so much smoother/faster.
Notifications works better on lockscreen, and have no issues at all with anything. Battery has got even better or equal in my opinion.
Though it is easy that something is running that is draining battery. Was the same at 4.4.4 though. Also a lot of apps that lagged before while scrolling is now totally smooth.
I think EMUI is great and easy to use. Do not miss stock or CM, but thats a question of taste.
I started out updating with the India version though, and it is not the same for HL04 as the one found on hihonor.com for european market. It worked out, but when I found it on hihonor.com I did a factory reset and installed the euroepean one in the end.

Does anyone know that the Screen saving options is still there? I love my phone at 720p – blazing fast, and no really noticeable drawbacks too.
