While the myriad of Chinese smartphone makers that ply in India bank on online commerce for their existence, a few brands like Gionee still prefer word-of-mouth marketing (and offline advertising) over online campaigns. That is also something that makes Gionee a lot more popular in tier 2 and tier 3 cities and towns in the country than its Chinese competitors.
Gionee is all set to unveil its most powerful phone so far in the Elife E8 in India next. The unveil will take place in the country capital of New Delhi on the 8th of October. Expect the phone to be popular among the shutterbugs, as was the case with its predecessor, the Elife E7.
The Elife E8 isn’t going to be the most powerful phone on the planet, but with a MediaTek Helio X10 processor and 3GB of RAM, it should be able to take you through for the most part. The highlight will, as mentioned, be the camera — a 24 mega-pixel sensor on the rear (and an 8 mega-pixel front facing shooter). The 24 mega-pixel snapper will come with some interesting specs such as OIS, 6P lens, sapphire glass lens cover to protect it from scratches, and a true-tone dual LED flash.
It’s quite a massive unit as well with a 6 inch screen (2K resolution) and a 3520mAh battery. Besides that, the Elife E8 will have 64GB on-board storage (if you’re going to use the camera, you’ll soon have to add your own storage — up to another 128GB).
With only a couple of days in between now and the launch, there isn’t much waiting you have to do to know about the pricing and availability details for the phone. Just a heads up — the Elife E8 should be more expensive than, say, a OnePlus 2.
Any news about Honor 7 launch in India?
7th October, if I’m not wrong.
Where is your S7 review??
Wait for him to finish college. Plus, he has now got a drone/quadcopter site up as well, which needs his time. 🙂
LOL. Yash and I both love Gionee and he uses his phones the same way I do, so I trust his reviews more than anyones, especially when it comes ot Gionee.
🙂
Looks like E8 or Blu Pure XL (the Gionee at 350$) may be my next one. I have been following your passionate posts about the Elife 7 (I think) – the phone with the best camera, which you still vouch for.
Not the best camera but one of the best released last year, the Vivo Xshot was probably the overall best last year.
Oops, need to update my bio, college got over long time back 🙂
Good to know. 🙂
if you are doing a startup or something on your own or plan to study further, then no worries. Looking out to work some place get some experience before starting on your own, then ping me. I am in Pune too.
The review is pretty much ready to be posted, but its been like that since a long time… will need to talk to the team to see if its still worth posting 🙁
Go ahead, post it here. Balco and me will still read it. 😀
Just do it!
Blu pure xl priced at 349 usd. Lower than oneplus 2. This phone should be priced same as oneplus two in india.
Launched yet?
Trouble is its not very good with a very poor camera, was gonna buy it myself till I read some reviews.
