Meizu just sent over info regarding the launch of their next for the Indian market.
The Meizu m2 will be the third phone to see a launch in India after Meizu ‘officially’ entered the country’s smartphone market. Prior to this, the m1 note had gone on sale via Amazon briefly.
There’s no exact date provided unfortunately (a couple local publications reckon its going to be Monday), which is a little unusual. Nonetheless, it shouldn’t hurt waiting a couple days extra at worst if you’re looking for a budget mini-ish phone.
The Meizu m2 comes with the entry-level MediaTek MT6735 processor with on-board LTE support, and with that combines 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage with a microSD slot for further expansion. The screen is a 5-inch panel with a 1280 x 720p resolution, so in every way possible, the m2 is a mid-ranger at best.
Other specifications of this budget phone include a 13 mega-pixel Samsung-made rear camera with dual tone dual LED flash on the rear, a 5 mega-pixel front facing camera and a non-removable 2500mAh battery.
Meizu also don’t mention the pricing for this one, but it’ll be safe to assume that it’ll be well under the 7,000 INR mark if there’s got to be any traction with this one.
