Lenovo’s P series has always been about battery life, but Lenovo looks to turn a new page with its Vibe P1 and Vibe P1m. Both smartphones have monster batteries, and sources say that Lenovo is bringing both to India by month’s end. The Vibe P1 is said to cost Rs. 17,500 and the Vibe P1m may cost Rs. 10,000.
Just as a refresher, the Lenovo Vibe P1 features a 5.5-inch, Full HD display with a 1,920 x 1,080p screen resolution (401ppi), Corning Gorilla Glass 3 panel, a 64-bit, octa-core, Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage with a 128GB microSD card slot for expandable storage, 5MP front camera, 13MP back camera with dual-LED flash and phase detection autofocus (PDAF), along with a 5,000mAh battery.
The Lenovo Vibe P1m, in contrast, comes with a 5-inch, HD display with a 1,280 x 720p screen resolution, a 1Ghz, quad-core MediaTek MT6735P processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage with a 32GB microSD card slot, 5MP front camera, 8MP back camera, dual-SIM slots, and a 4,000mAh battery.
Lenovo has decided to price these with some distance between them, making one a more budget-friendly model with a quad-core processor (Vibe P1m) as opposed to the octa-core processor of the Vibe P1, alongside of the difference in display size (5.5-inch vs. 5-inch), storage (Vibe P1 hs 32GB of local storage as opposed to the Vibe P1m’s 16GB), battery size (5,000mAh vs. 4,000mAh), and back camera (13MP back camera for the Vibe P1 versus the 8MP back camera of the Vibe P1m).
While the batteries should perform wonderfully (at least 2 days), Lenovo has decided to make these devices more mouth-watering for tech-hungry consumers who want more than just excellent battery life.
