Huawei Enjoy 5 with all-metal body, reverse charging, and 4,000mAh battery announced for China, costs $158

Huawei has been busy lately, with the Nexus 6P for Google and the recent India launch of the Honor 7, but not busy enough to forget about their home market and launch the new Enjoy 5.

The Huawei Enjoy 5, is aimed at the entry-level market keeping price and battery performance at the top of the list. You’ll get an all-metal smartphone with a 5-inch, IPS LCD HD display 1280 x 720p resolution, 1.1Ghz, quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, support for 128GB microSD cards, 5MP front camera, 13MP back camera, dual SIM, a 4,000mAh battery, and Android 5.1 Lollipop with Huawei’s Emotion UI 3.0 preinstalled. And yes, the 9.7mm Huawei Enjoy 5 does run 4G LTE wireless, so you’ll get to stay connected to the fastest wireless technology currently available. Huawei has even provided reverse charging, so that you can use your 4,000mAh battery in the device to power charge other devices.

The Huawei Enjoy 5’s 4,000mAh battery is said to last for 10 days on standby, but we can imagine users getting a good 2 days of battery life with regular use out of the device without worry. The best part of the package is that the device will only cost 999 Yuan, or $158 USD.

The Huawei Enjoy 5 is only available in China, and there’s no word as to whether or not the device will see the broader worldwide market. The third-largest global manufacturer is making its presence known in its home country, which will certainly be a win for both Huawei and the Chinese customer base. The Enjoy 5 will be available in China on Friday, October 16th.

You really think oukitel is a match for huawei in terms of build quality, software and connectivity?

My previous phone was from huawei on a mobile contract. Sold that one, didnt like it. I Huawei is expensive, and for 160$ you could buy anything else, but u know, there are peoples in the world hwo throw away 1000$ for an iphone, because they are affraid to try a chinese phone. And yes, oukitel does make good phones for the money u pay, not like that elephant..

Yes, they have good software, never had a lag on my oukitel. They need to improve the quality, but in terms of cimparison, u will pay double, or three time more for a huawei device with the same specs as oukitel

He Guys, does anyone know where I could buy this phone? The reason I want to buy this phone is due to the mobile frequencies, since I will spend some time in the Americas. Just saying this so I won’t get all the guys after me saying that I shouldn’t buy it 😉

Do you have any idea if the Honor 5X that it’s going to be launched on Oct 27? This one seems more like a 4C replacement.

I am surprised no other news outlet has picked up on this:
