It’s usually fairly difficult to get hold of OnePlus products. That isn’t because they cost a lot, but because the inventory is maintained in a reactive manner, i.e., the demand has to first be there for the company to react by producing more of their gadgets.
The OnePlus 2 is the newest OnePlus phone (which won’t be for long, it appears), which usually requires buyers to have an ‘invite’ if they wish to purchase the phone. For a limited time, OnePlus is offering its flagship phone invite-free (i.e., in an ‘open sale’) in the Indian market.
The first of these open sales starts at 12PM IST (GMT +5:30) today, i.e. on the 12th of October. The phone is 24,999 INR (US$386) in the country, and can only be bought via Amazon.in. The second open sale is scheduled for 8AM tomorrow, as you can see from the press image right at the bottom of this article
Gizchina News of the week
The OnePlus 2 is what the company calls a flagship killer for this year. The phone has a Snapdragon 810 SoC, 3/4GB RAM, 16/64GB storage, 13 mega-pixel laser autofocus camera, 3300Ah battery and a 5.5-inch FHD screen.
However, the OnePlus 2 has failed to recreate the kind of effect the OnePlus One had around the middle of 2014. You can read our review of the OnePlus 2 here.
Should I pass on the OP2 save some more money(I work so I can) and get a Meizu Pro 5 or pick something else before new year
Patience my friend. I stopped myself from hitting the “Buy Now” button. Maybe Honor 7 is a better buy. Your views please maxpower and balcobomber?
The Meizu MX 5 (16GB) is on sale for about 280$. But I need more space. Cloud not yet… not for another couple of years. sigh!
Hope they pump out the water so that product starts again or move to a different factory. Right now, their factory is flooded.
Saw the mx5 on fastcardtech. Com 3gb 16gb for something like 275usd(240€) might get two for my parents
…and don’t forget 5% custom fees
on top of that!
Oh man the f-ing customs don’t get me started on them, brought a Onda tablet for 164€ shipping included, then it came with a surprise!!! 40€ custom fee which sat me back 204€?
yeah, that’s why I’m promoting the gizchina store to my italian friends.
they ship from Slovenja, so no custom fees, they are reliable, they offer competitive prices.
i’ve noticed that you follow the Italian version of gizchina:
what’s wrong with that website?
there was a guy asking where he could get the LeTV Pro and i told him to get from gizchina store because for 289€ is a bargain.
guess what?
my comment got banned twice!
Yeah I keep an eye on both sites, but i enjoy reading stuff in English most of the time.
Sorry to hear about your good hearted comments, but I Think that it explains why there are less to no comments; very sad.
that reminds me why i left the old country long time ago.
funny how people that complains how nothing works over there are the same that contribute to make that happen.
whatever, that’s another story.
i don’t want to bore you with this stuff.
😀
Neither do I, got this discussion from here to nowhere
last week i shipped a box with personal stuff, documents and pictures to my brother in Italy.
i live in the US.
in the declaration of the goods i put $70 and i marked it as gift.
guess what?
he got charged of 24€!
Honor 7 seems pretty nice but doesn’t ‘feel’ as premium as the OnePlus 2. If you can live with that, it could be the phone for this year.
I’m waiting myself as well.
Balco is happy with his MX5 and i have the suspect that he’s going to stick with it for a while.
it all depends how long you’re willing to wait because i don’t think you might be able to get anything good at a good price before the next 4 or 5 months (so it’s a long wait).
if you need something soon then you have lot of options, there are very good (but not great IMHO) phones out there.
The OP2 is a good option if you can get it from the official channel (there’s an open sale this Thursday)
LeTV S1 and LeTV pro are two good options on temporary sale right now on shop.gizchina.com for $199 and $299 respectively.
Meizu MX5 is a good option too, great build quality at very competitive price, but you have to like the ROM (you either love it or hate it)
Same about Honor 7
then you have 2 cheap but still good options which are the Redmi Note 2 and MI4C.
and last but not least you have the ZUK Z1 which i is a good alchemy of premium features (64GB rom, CM12, Fingerprint sensor, premium build quality, huge battery) with a last year SoC (SD801) which is still a good SoC that won’t drop a sweat either for heavy task or games.
Thanks mate. I wonder which phone you missed. 🙂 but yes, it is rather tough to decide. I will wait until end of the month, then decide. LeTV S1/Pro do seem like a nice buy.
you have no idea how hard is for me to wait.
every day i wake up and debate if i should get one of those LeTVs or not. LOL
i have time, my phone is not a year old yet, I’m probably going to wait till the end of the year/ begging of 2016
“The OnePlus 2 is what the company calls a flagship killer for this year”
they actually went further, saying that this phone is a flagship killer for the NEXT year O_o
