First photos of the Bluboo XTouch are in (and they look rather classy)

What you have to give Chinese companies is the credit for making some really nice looking phones and stand out from the crowd.

The upcoming Bluboo XTouch is a phone that has caught the fancy of most folks looking to buy a decent 5-inch screen phone. The XTouch Pro (i.e., the top-of-the-line model) is supposed to have one of the best processors from recent times, the MediaTek MT6795 Helio X10 (MT6752 for the X500) along with 4GB of RAM (3GB for the X500), and more.

The phone is all set to be released this month with a price tag that’s expected to be under the $200 mark.

Some other interesting tech that the XTouch will have include a high-res camera, believed to be a 20 mega-pixel sensor along with a 3050mAh battery and a rather stylish back cover, and a sapphire glass coated front.

It has been a while since we’ve seen a really nice 5-inch phone (turns out the new Xiaomi Mi 4c is one), and Bluboo have all the reason to dish out a real champ in the XTouch.

    MT6753 for the X500, not 6752.
13.0 MP SONY MX214, OIS, so they say…

I believe it will appear at Global Sources Autumn Electronics Show 18-21 oct.

That’s the non-pro version. The Pro version was going to be called the x500 Pro but now it’s the Xtouch Pro.

Retaillers on aliexpress have posted it at 199 for the regular one with the MTK6753 so the PRO will run more expensive than 200 for sure, maybe more than 250 or who knows!!!

I will clarify that they have it on sale for almost 40 dollars less for some days…

This article was supposed be about the non-pro I thought, it seems to get confused along the way and generalises about the camera. Pro version possibly a long way off still.

From the back it looks like a Galaxy Note 5; from the front it doesn’t look very comfortable to hold with the sharp edges. Not my cup of tea from initial photos.

Duh, almost anything looks classy when it’s photographed with a nice watch, fountain pen and leather wallet. The phone itself looks pretty ugly (especially the front) but I’ll admit they did a really good job of playing it up with the creative use of props.

And another device lacking NFC. Why do Chinese manufacturers shy away of NFC? Costs $5 to add and would make every phone so much more valuable when mobile payments roll out in 2016 on a broad scale.

My give on NFC HOTKNOT and similar tech is that is something lame. Usefull at times but wireless and Bluetooth are more mainstream and easily upgradeable. I will like an opinion on some practical use of NFC or HOTKNOT that’s only available with those. ???? Anyone???

Mobile payments, NFC tags, instant pairing. There is a lot of things only NFC can do.

I get your point. Mine is that is not a technologie that the wide mainstream market is using for a daily basis. But give people a good camera software, FOR EXAMPLE, for this same device and you will see what is my point. Optimization is always good maybe more than number or features, that’s maybe what the OnePlus2 were after, ? although it backfired at them.

$5 is a lot for a device like this, and people have been predicting mobile payments to “roll out on a broad scale” for years now.

Amazing price. What’s the front camera resolution? EDIT; ok it’s got 20MP back and 8MP front, 4GB System Memory, 64GB Storage, but the screen is the same as the x500, a 1080p res screen. If they can get it out at $200 then it’s a winner, especially with the great looks.

is this article about the Pro or non-pro? It seems a bit confused. X500/Xtouch non pro is only version on horizon as far as I know and that has MT6753 IMX 214 with OIS (hopefully).
